Who's fed up with it?

I wonder where I got all those words.

CS:Go will support it natively on the PS3 with cross-platform support.

Oh thats actually happening then. Not really been following it.

Either way the point is really that matching anyone using a controller vs anyone with a keyboard/mouse is going to lead to a very biased fight. Even if its PS3 vs PS3. If the devs are willing to make it fair.

I have to say. All this whinning about using a controller on a console. Is just why the console makers are shooting themselfs in the foot.

Unreal tornameant 3 had it right. Anabling Mouse and keyboared support on the PS3. I even tried it out and loved it. Was just like playing on my PC allbe it with a slightly lower resolution.

If sony and microsoft got all game manufacturers to enable M/K support in their games it would make the world a better place.

Granted it could actualy kill off PC gaming if most PC gamers excuses for not liking a console are in fact correct. You know the ones.

"i hate controllers I want to be able to use a mouse and keyboared"

Means people can get that PC interaction but with a cheap console.

I fail to see why more game manufacturers have not done this it makes absolutly no sence to me.

When you played UTIII on PS3 you could choose between controller only, M/K only or mixed matches.

And to put a stoper on the "ZOMFG i will porn a contoller player with my Mouse and keyboared" think again. Where we may be extreamly good with the tools we use for gaming Controller jockies are also verygood with theirs. And most of the mixed matches where pretty even. with the controllers sensitivity turned up. and a person that is used to using one. they can turn aim shoot just as fast and as acuratly as a mouse user.

For example. give a console player your pc for a quick go. and its thrustrating as hell to watch them fumble around using a mouse to aim. its just the same for most mouse users and a controller.

I suspect you're too young to know. By about six years.

i heard some where a while back that a game company set up the best pad console players and let average pc players fight it out and the average pc gamers won.

i cant remember what company done that though and it was during testing for a fps game, then they decided to not let the game be cross platform multi as it would too unfair for the console guys.

Opinion hasn't changed since the thread was made. Cross platform with FPS/RTS games won't work and I doubt much people would want it except maybe you...Racing games it would work fine for example the new F1 you could play co-op campaign with a friend on Xbox that would work great if it was done right but not an FPS or RTS it will be too unfair and if I was a console gamer I wouldn't be buying the game because I would know how bad I would get owned then queue rage quitting and trading in game and not buying the next one released. Most game companys are about the money so they won't do something that might decrease there income.

Ok so who is fed up with not that many cross-platform online games being released, portal 2 is probably one of the only ones I can think of. I don't care if developers think pc gamers will own console I want to be able to play with all my friends without having to buy a console.

why not just ... learn to use a pad ?

speaking as an owner of both, it just takes practice !

Joking aside, and on a purely gaming level, I wouldn't mind, if console players had the use of mouse and keyboards. Otherwise just no point. the new CSSGO I believe is cross-platform, that should be interesting. An profanity hellhole, hack-ridden troll fest, but an interesting experiment nonetheless.

That is if they can actually overcome the technical difficulties, and provide dedicated servers. And of course if I don't have to read or listen to their inane bitching.

Personally I don't care. And I don't think you'll see a difference between a console player with M&K and a PC player.

Truth. I can go from one to the other, and play competently with either.

If your friends mostly have consoles and you don't, why is it developers faults? It adds a lot of complexity and effort (as well as vendor issues) for them, I'd be amazed if cross platform ever becomes the norm.

Also truth.

Why would anyone want to? I hate playing FPS with pads. Other games are better, like Batman and Dead Space, or racing games, but FPS / RTS / RPGs are best served with M&K.

Rubbish that RPGs are. Some of the best RPGs I can think of have been console exclusive or had console as the main focus of development. I'll give you that RTS is solid M+K territory, but there have been some fun ones usable with a pad.

I'm more than happy to use a pad if it means I can play some of the great exclusive FPS games. There's more to the experience than just the input method.

It's more the fact that it's technically difficult, it's a pain to QA, a pain to support, for little gains.

I don't even know how they managed to do it on the XBOX and GFWL with their encrypted packet protocols and proprietary matchmaking. Is this generally restricted to PS3s and PCs?

to play with his mates that have one ?

The very reason he stated at the beginning. Unless he wants to buy his mates all £1000 PCs, its the only way.

There are more than me on here who own both for just this sort of reason. And then you don't miss out on all the console exclusives like Gears of War, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid etc..

Not to mention that some cross platform games, actually play better on the console. Plus you can trade your console games in when you get fed up of them, and buy second hand copies. If you buy / sell right you can constantly change games around for very little money.

As for the pad, you just learn to do it same as you learn to be good at any game.

I'm the same. I have not touched my Xbox in about 6 months, but i am keeping it as there will no doubt be a game that my mates get(who do not have gaming PC's) on the 360 that i will be able to join. Also i will be able to play through Gears Coop with them.

I do wish they would get a good PC for BF3 though, as i can't get that on the 360!:p

I'd have my PS3 even if i never ever played another game on it.

Just for the fact its a streaming media player and my bluray player.
