viewsonic vp171b 17"
got my pc on dvi and 360 on vga ,but just wondering if i get a hdmi to dvi cable can i connect my ps3 on it
also how would i get sound ?
1) PC Monitor 17" - 30" : Dell 2407 1920x1200 res so running 1080p
3) HiDef LCD TV 40" - 50" : Sony 40W2000 1080p
Using Xbox 360 connected via VGA and PS3 via HDMI (haven't used the PS3 on the Dell as yet). Oops forgot about the Wii (only arrived the other day after being ordered end of Nov...) Got a component cable for this so 480p?
1) Dell 2407FPW -PC only
2) Samsung 32R41BDX (Primary) - HD-DVD/ Shuttle, PS3, Sony Hdd/DVD, Pioneer amp
2) LG 26" hidef (Bedroom) not sure of model though
26" Sharp Aquos (can't for the life of me remember the model), 720p through Component.
I did use my 360's VGA for a quick test but I didn't really see much difference and prefered to keep VGA port free for my PC.
Using a Sharp 42D1E, and connecting everything to it through a Sony 5200ES reciever to upscale everything to 1080p and then pass through HDMI, makes life a hell of a lot easier with this tv having a little limited connectivity.
LG 37LC3R
Xbox 360 - 1280x720 (VGA)
PC - 1366x768 (HDMI/DVI)
Brilliant TV for its price (£650) only thing thats a let down is the SD broadcasts, but thats the same with any HDTV really. HD feeds look gorgeous though
The thing with DTV is it only accepts standard TV resolutions (480p, 720p etc) but it takes the input as a true component colour set VGA input (which is what the 360 uses) rather than fudging a VGA input that takes the VGA standard colour set input by cropping the blacks resulting often in non brilliant whites and always results in non true colour reproduction. Unless your TV accepts component VGA (Like the DTV mode on the LGs) VGA will never look as good as component if you are a pick bugger.
