Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

can you use that site?

edit - no 3g ones either.

Yes i can get to the payment page without entering any business details, but it says in T&S you must be purchasing for business use only. What's stopping me from buying one for non business use?

In that case nothing, but they might cancel the order. They may run some sort of address check. Worth a try I suppose if the one you want is in stock.

Be careful as ipad 1 shows up as well.

Are you surprised? Its probably THE most sought after gadget in the world at this present time. They cant make them fast enough.

I guess but it came out Friday so I can see why it's selling like hot cakes. The hype will most likely die down after this week.

I'm almost tempted to get one myself, is there a topic on this forum talking about the ipad2? Not just about buying one etc

But is it different with business purchases? silly question but do you actually own the product, or is it leased to you

Well, I caved and ordered one. Basic 16GB WiFi to replace my current iPad1 16GB WiFi. I don't need the extra storage as I store most stuff in the cloud these days and I have a 3 Mifi for web access.
I got £250 for my iPad1 so cost to change was £150. Happy with that.

I dont believe business purchases are subject to the distance selling act so keep that in mind if you decide to use PC World business site.

How did you get on CHokKA? Did Argos take it back?

Yeah they did. I used to work in retail many years ago as a customer service rep, so I know what will get you the result you need in that sort of situation. Despite it not being covered under their 30-day money back guarantee, which meant I wasn't entitled to a refund, I called and spoke with their manager on Saturday morning and politely explained that the site wasn't clear as to whether it was the first or second gen iPad, and that searching for iPad 2 brought up no results so I simply used "iPad" as the search term and then reserved it when I saw that there were only a few left. He said that as long as it hadn't been opened and used, that I could pop in and get a refund for it, which we did a few hours later :)

I dare say that had I gone in and kicked up a massive fuss, I'd have got no refund and escorted from the store. Too many people think that shouting their way through gets them what that they need, but that couldn't be further from the truth. A little courtesy goes a long way and in this situation I recognise that it was partially my fault as well, I should have checked more thoroughly instead of rushing in, but my excitement got the better of me :) I was happy to get a refund but they had no idea when more were coming in and couldn't reserve one for me, so we headed over to the flying rock instead. It was good as we managed to actually get to use a demo unit too. They're very responsive :)

Glad you got that sorted. :)

So you got one from the flying rock or just had a play with it?

I forgot to mention that when my iPad arrived this morning it said iPad on the brown box that covered the apple box, for a second I thought I'd made the same mistake but underneath in small letters was the reassuring iPad 2. :)

Just a quick heads up for those who pre-ordered from the Apple Store on a Credit Card, while Apple don't actually take the funds until the order is shipped, they are reserved and therefore not useable so it is basically the same thing. Although I expect they can be refunded quicker when the order is cancelled. Not sure if this is the same for all orders, but I expect so.

I found this out to my to my peril when my order from John Lewis was cancelled due to a failed transaction. So I've cancelled my Apple order, I'm not willing to wait that long anyways.

Not an issue for all but worth mentioning.
