Why all the hate for PS3?

I'm not sure that nearly all cross format games are 360 ports (any more). Certainly I was under the impression that the majority of games were now using PS3 as lead machine, and then porting to 360, to ensure better quality on both systems. I believe Burnout Paradise even benefitted from this method on the 360.

But still, if I hated my PS3, I'd sell it, and use the money for something more useful!

There are no ps1/ps2 mem card slots on it either, the designers should be shot! Mines the 60gb version, I still have the receipt from a big online retailer so may sell it on MM. Burnout did run well, will give you that

GTA4 was a bit rediculusthough. Are new games deffo going to run smoother?? The whole chop off the res thing is quite anoying, COD4 is an awesome game, but on the ps3 its 570p, I just feel like I havnt got my contacts in (short sighted).

I just feel that after I finish MGS4 then I have nothing to play for a while, as if a game is released on 360/ps3/pc I will get the pc one every time. I only use consoles for exclusives.

I'm not sure about all your facts there, I thought for a start that Call of Duty 4 was 640p? On both consoles? I've no idea, I played it at 1080p on the PC, but that's another story. I never missed the PS2 memory card slots I must say, as it's a PS3... but you can buy an adaptor for less than a tenner if it's important.

Being a 60gb model you have there, if you really hate it, you could get a good price for that, as members on here are always mentioning how much they'd like Backwards Compatibility, so you could be quids in with that one!

i just bought a PS3 today, didnt even boot up ffs

then i plugged it in and it worked, that wound me up

Yea I will look into selling it. Apart from haard drive size, is the 80gb one the same as the 40gb one?

on a serious note, as much as i enjoy my 360 + games, there is one thing that the PS3 holds over the console..... region free games - not a big bug-bear for many, BUT as a baseball fan, the 360 PAL is the biggest lump of 'beep' when it comes to baseball offerings.

that will always entice me to the PS3 and one day, will convince me of a purchase

I buy a large percentage of my games from the States, as they're often out considerably sooner, or even if the release dates are close/the same, the games are often £5-£10 cheaper each time too!

EDIT: I do this for single player games, or at least, games I will definitely only play on my own. I buy multiplayer games from the UK, to ensure I wind up on a European server.. some games give you the choice, and some not.

You create memory slots for PS2/PS1 games. Or if you have a memory card then all you need is an adapter which is about £7 of fleabay so really that pretty much negates that issue. As for games yes some do run at a lower res which is not really acceptable but you need to point your finger at the developers not the console manufacturer unless their 1st party titles.

The region free bit is a good point. I have looked into getting games from USA but I am completely clueless to which websites are good or not.

That would be a good idea, a sony,nintendo & microsoft sub forum would stop all this arguing. Should we start a thread talking about it? Maybe the powers that be will create 2 sub forums.

It's been spoken about befor, but the staff wont do it, they prefer all the bickering and flaming.

problem is the amount of traffic in each forum

360 will get the majority, then the PS3 and Wii small random amounts - this will only increase the flaming, as the 360ers can brag at the more users

AVF everytime i look has very similar numbers logged into their Microsoft or Playstation forums if anything quite often PS3 forums have more.
