Why all the hate for PS3?

i personally think both consoles are great software wise and people who say ps3 has no good games are mad.

I went for ps3 mainly because it offered more of what i wanted. 360 hardware has put me off big time. And paying to pay online is a joke imo better service or not

edit: and on the topic of people hating ps3/sony I have noticed a lot of people hate sony for killing sega and a lot of the people love dream cast and went xbox to spite sony
 
Rampant Xbox/anti-Sony fanboyism is part and parcel of this forum it's been the same since the Xbox/PS2 days, you get used to it. :)

Still wouldnt make me buy a ps3 though.

I am not a anti-sony man i had a ps2 and love that console to bits in fact i still have it dont play as much now but fantastic console. But atm theres hardly anything on the ps3 that either the xbox hasnt got already or well just hardly anything :p
 
I have no hate for the PS3, I don't have any love for Sony though.

I want to buy a PS3, but atm it has nothing to offer me to justify the expense.
Personally, I think the next year or two things will be different and the PS3 will be an attractive purchase (although I expect the next Xbox to be announced 2009/2010 which will throw a spanner in the works).

Sony, need to shed their "Field Of Dreams" view of the world....."Build it and they will come". It works on the their fans (same with Apple) but not on the general populus.
 
I think a lot of people are still stuck in 2006/7. There are plenty of exclusives for PS3 now and the hardware is better. Even if GT5 is apparently delayed and a FF 360 port is coming out. There are some seriass looking exclusives due soon such as LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, that MAG & Infamous, Motorstorm 2 that tbh I really really wanna play, which makes me glad ive got one. The PS3 just lacks the 360 back catalogue. (& Ive noticed that the majority of people complaining are the people without them, 360 justification? I think if youve got all 3 there is no reason to moan.

& I aint sure why people hate Sony but not M$? Microsoft are the most money thirsty company of all time and will bleed you dry.

I don't like the PS3 based on general annoyances, it could do things better but as it stands:

No tight multi player integration with the dashboard
PSN shop seems cluttered
Demo's need installing (why?)
Certain games have forced installations
Cross platform games don't seem to 'shine' on the PS3
Load times are horrendous at times (Motorstorm car select screen)
Downloads stop when watching a BD movie
Removing BC

The above points are not there to be argued about, they are my personal opinion only.

That makes no sense - Microsoft are far worse at this!
 
i have both - and have spent equal amounts of money getting both up to the same standard in terms of features
[paying the extra for xbox wireless and online play bumped it up to what i payed for my ps3]

my ps3 doesnt connect to wireless reliably and my xbox has broken down
so i guess both have their faults

either way - i accept the flaws and regard both as great consoles

i have to admit that i was playing my ps3 a lot more recently - until i got GRID for my xbox...
 
PS3 has the potential to be amazing once the games are on the shop shelves but at the moment they aren't. They need more exclusive titles and they need them now not in a year or two. I don't hate the PS3 I just can't justify getting one. It says something when you would rather buy something that you know might not be as reliable but atleast you would use it.
 
PS3 could have been a really good machine with tonnes of games, but unfortunately its hard to code those games so more and more exclusives are crossing to Xbox as its easier to code for and they get more money, shame really.
 
I hate the PS3 because it killed my best friend. It was a dark and stormy night, me and my friend were playing the new old multi fps whatever(it was great). Write in the middle of a capture the etc, the PS3 stood up, walked downstairs grabbed a knife from the second draw on the left, walked back up stairs, and proceeded to stab him sixteen times. I was like Wtf, omg, then we buried him in the back garden. I can only play one player fpses now, why PS3, why did you do it?:(

PS3 slept with my girlfriend :(

It didn't matter that the PS3 only had small RAM, The Cell processor just meant that it could stimulate 7 places at once with it's SPU's while going for Gold with It's PPe. I just couldn't compete, And so now she's my Ex.

Can someone seriously give me what the PS3 has to offer other than blu-ray at the moment?

I often sit there while playing my 360, look at the PS3 and think 'what are you even doing here'.

but I keep it, in hope that something will come along, and pick it up off its backlegs.
