Why all the hate for PS3?

NONE of these companies like you, or care about you, they want your money, that is the end of it.

I will tell you why the PS3 gets so much hate here, it is because many of the users of this forum have had a 360 since launch or close to, this was a great move by Microsoft to get the early sales, so when a new console comes out that is expensive, people have to justify that the console they already own is great, to do this they become 360 fanboys and defend that console right to the end.

For me, the PS3 is the best peice of AV equipment I have ever owned, has plenty of games to keep me happy.

This is spot on, I groan when I see people cheering MS on against Sony or any of the other combinations.

No one should feel the need to justify anything. That's the problem.

PS3 is awesome, 360 is awesome, Wii isn't for me.

But I'm not one to go into Wii threads pulling the console apart.

I don't need to justify anything, I am more than happy with my PS3.

I'm not defending Sony one bit, they have made plenty of stupid mistakes this gen, all I am pointing out is that NONE of these companies care about you they only care about your money, yet some people defend them like they would their own children.

Oh come on man, MS have done the same with their sales figures over the years etc.

They are all as bad as one another, your right Sony are arrogant, so are the other two though, be fair.

I dont hate the PS3 as a console of course its very very good, it is the sheer amount of BS Sony made up about the power of it, what it could do etc etc.

MS did the same but not to the same extent, i have no doubt the PS3 will eventually do very very well, and may end up getting one ( tho I have a strnage hatred for the controller, never ever felt "right" to me.....but thats just me)

Also it kind of reaks that this was used as an injection for their BR format....which again is fine from a marketing POV.

Also I have a long standing hatred of Sonys other devices which pobobly make me hate on them a lot lol.

yes but you see it as a piece of av equipment first, as i do. thats a floored arguement when were talking about the ps3 from a gaming perspective when the 360 does do a lot fo things better. its not about 360 owners just defending their console either - you dont have to own a 360 to know what it can do (i dont own one). form a gaming perspective the 360 is doing everything the ps3 is doing, but doing so cheaper and better for the most part (with the exception of the Live! sub) the ps3 is somewhat behind in that regard.

my ps3 is the single most impressive bit ive av kit i think ive bought for the money. it does a lot of things VERY well. but if we are talking about it as a gaming console.....well, the only reason i dont own a 360 is because of the reliability. nothing else.

PS3 could have been a really good machine with tonnes of games, but unfortunately its hard to code those games so more and more exclusives are crossing to Xbox as its easier to code for and they get more money, shame really.

That's not the case, devs are starting to use the PS3 as lead platform, because they realised it's easier to port it across to the 360, than it is from 360 to PS3.

No the actual quote was "as many of you have written 2008 is the year of the PS3" so its the press saying it is, i get EGM as im a subscriber and it has 2008 the year of the PS3 cover an article so they are only reiterating what others have said.
Sony was arrogant as they had every good reason to be, they crushed the last gen and the gens before consoles so it would make you arrogant. But they are not the same company now and are far more humble to see true arrogance see the microsoft conference last year.

Yeah I do agree with you mate, I think if you want a PURE gaming console your better off with the 360, but I also think if you have a decent PC your better off with a PS3 as we all know that the majority of 360 exclusives end up on PC too, so your almost getting the best of both worlds, I would think many of us on here have a decent PC.

But yep as a pure gaming device the PS3 is behind the 360.

i.e

Mcdonalds - 'I'm lovin it'
KFC 'Finger Licking good'
Gillete 'Best a man can get'
M&S - 'Its not just food, its M&S food'
Tesco - 'Every little helps'

They are just slogans to sell what they have and get the point across, where as, 'we are the best of 2008 or 2008 year of the PS3' they need true hard facts to be able to say/be this, which obviously they ain't so that comes across very arrogant.

They said it at least 10 times throughout the conference, that's arrogance.

I never get the impression of arrogance from Microsoft. Perfect example would be when they dropped the price of the XBox 1 after launch, as a launch day buyer I was initially disappointed until I saw that they were giving existing owners two games and a controller as compensation.

Well i guess you missed my post with the actual quote, but so far compared with the 360 world wide and in the US 2008 has been the year of the PS3 in terms of console sales
