Why are babies and baby animals cute?

I would agree to an extenct that some babies are cute, only some though, some are "wow, I feel sorry for you already"

All the "cuteness" is just for survival anyway

Indeed we do, although i'm not a fan of human babies to a great extent, kittens/puppies/pandas/most baby animals and i melt.

Sounds about the same as me - I can generally tell an ugly baby from a not so ugly baby but that doesn't mean I think its cute.

On the other hand I have over 1000 piccys of various "cute" animals on my PC
