Why are my Cases always Noisey!

No fans in my case. Only on the CPU, PSU and VGA. Case is almost quiet and runs cool and sweet.

how does that work as there no air coming in the front to cool over the components. so wont it be hotter in there ?

Not necessarily. A lot has to do with having a tidy case too. No cables etc in the way. My case is really tidy inside, good natural airflow. The Alu 201 helps too as that acts as a giant heatsink.

There are a number of factors that help in cooling a case. Having a good CPU heatsink and fan is good too. I have a Thermalright SI-120 with a Nexus 120mm fan on it and that is a great cooler. Also, room temp does determine how hot or cold the inside of the pc gets. Even on very warm days mine stays very cool.

I have tried it with extra fans in it but the difference was not worth the extra noise. Some people just go 'overboard; when it comes to having fans in thier cases. Try running your PC with one less fan and see what temps you get. Not much, if any, difference at all.

I recently changed all my fans to silenx fans to improve airflow and decrease noise levels in my case. One of the 120mm models they do is rated at 14dBA & 72CFM so cant be bad.
Ive heard that they are good but them specs are a load of rubbish. Did you get the LED versions BTW?.

The 120mm fan you speak of is more like what I think 20db would be, and around 40CFM.

The specs of all fans are miles off, especially SilenX and Thermaltake.

Fan specs mean nothing, the noisiest fan I own on paper at 12v that pushes the least air is the quietest and gets the best temperatures.

used to have delta fans in my old pc60 and that was noisy. current fans aren't that noisy its just the like humming noise that they make and the vibration of them against the case

Well they may not be 100% correct but as I dont have the equipment to test them with I cant tell.

The 120mm versions are virtually silent and the 38mm thick 120mm fan pushes out a lot more air than any other 120mm fan I have had apart from a delta fan.

Didnt get the led version, but my case / cpu idle temps have gone down about 5C, after swapping them for Antec 3s which were installed previously. The temperature drop is not due to the room temp changes before anyone asks.

SilenX fans all got a really crap write up in the latest CustomPC mag. SilenX state noise levels well below what they actually are, and airflow well above what it actually is. The best 120mm money can buy apparenly is the Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000 120mm.

Yeah for noise definatley, remember air flow on the Sharkoons isnt great, and should be taken into consideration

7v 120mm ambers are great.

You don't need a gale blowing through your case... the job of case fans is to provide a steady stream of cool air from the front and equal extraction from the back. Stronger airflow is usually required to cool individual components though.

Not being funny but one bad review hardly sums up an item as there are plenty of positive reviews about.

You could try "speedfan" a small program, if you have your fans in your mobo by 3 pin to reduce the speed of them. Its pretty useful as mines is major loud, altough mostly due to crappy case.

CustomPC get loads of things wrong, I do not take their word over anyones. :)

SilenX, at 80mm at least are just about as good as it gets.

SilenX are not the best when it come to noise / Cooling. I have had a couple in my time and they are quite noisy compared to the Nexus Fan i have over my CPU.
