Right should probably start this thread by saying i'm not in the market for an RX-8 (atleast not yet anyways ;)), just curious as to how some seemingly low mileage not too old and good condition sports cars are so cheap . Presumably i'm missing something but no idea what that might be, heard rotarys were pretty bad for everyday use but thought they fixed that with the renesis?

Plus they drink oil like nobody's business and if you don't keep an eye on it, it's engine replacement time.

No they are not ***** at all, in my opinion they are a viable option if you want a sport car for not much cash. The low cost of these will easily offset the extra running required, you need to use your brain and get a good example then keep the cash you have initially saved for the running costs. So if you like the styling and want a happy sports car which will accomodate a small family then go for it.

Please fully star out any swearing in future. Thank you.

They are too sporty for some people, and come with the costs of a genuinely sporty car.

This.

Think of them like a more luxurious S2000 that can seat 4 and drinks lots more oil and petrol.

I'm sure if everyone thought of them like that, they would sing there praises more.

If they did sensible MPG I'd have one in a heartbeat. But then if they did sensible MPG I'd expect them to cost £2K+ more than they do.
