Why are some things more illegal than others!

Then surely it's not our business if someone wants to fly over to the states to watch a tv prog? It's certainly cheaper than Photoshop CS2.
Depends which country where you watched the broadcasted program, TBH.

I thought that was the whole idea of a forum? Or at least thats what my perception is.
I agree with your statement - many a time I have seen "look at this/that" threads, followed by another person saying "hah, I've got better..."

tis true though - I've seen up to the current point of Lost series 3 because I was in the States when it was aired. But I can't talk about it (I wouldn't anyway because there would be spoilers), despite me having done nothing illegal. But I understand why it's done - it would only encourage talk from people who have seen it illegally, which in turn I suppose can be seen as if not condoning it, certainly turning a blind eye to it.

However it is a good point that people admitting to breaking the law in Motors is allowed, but not in relation to piracy. Still, just wait til OCUK start selling motors, then we'll see :p

i'd still bet £50 that nothing would come of discussing an episode towards ocuk

:p
Expect this to be deleted.
After all if it's about being "big brother" then as online betting is illegal in the US any refernce to betting needs removed .... or OC employees will be arrested when they holiday in the US :)

it's happening all over the place, forums sharing music tablature have been threatened and shut down, the latest i've seen is football365, they've been threatened by the premier league because people were posting links to live streams of games from china. but they've also put a stop to people posting pictures or gifs of incidents in games, and considering it's a football forum it seems a bit stoopid to me, but then it's not my nads on the line.

Yes but according to you they actually shared stuff , posted pics... posted links.

Would it have been the same just discussing it?

Because sharing movies etc. can KILL! all those poor actors who can't afford to feed themselves whereas speeding is perfectly safe.

well i suppose sharing it leaves an evidence trail, or discussing how to do it shares the knowledge. i'm not saying it's right to ban it, i personally don't really mind either way, but if it was me being threatened it would be in my best interests to ensure anything questionable was removed.

true but OcUK cant be expected to check everyone has legit copies of photoshop for example. thats the software makers job...
Going off topic a bit here, but I think that the developers of software like that are particularly bothered about illegal downloading. In fact they probably realise it's actually beneficial to them. Little Johnny downloads photoshop and plays around with it for a few years, grows up to be a web designer, buys photoshop for his business because that's what he's used to. With those prices they can only really expect businesses to buy them.
