Why are you staying in on the single best night for going out on the lash?

Been out a few times on Xmas Eve, but a taxi back was stupid. And I just generally couldn't be bothered this year :)

Kids finally crashed out and the missus has gone to bed ****** but with the alarm on so that we can load the stockings up later.
Ive spent a few Xmas's working abroad so smashing the Pinot as i type.
Anybody reading this in Afghan or Iraq........unlucky suckers :)

xmas eve and new years eve are a rip off.Every pub that you go in week in week out now suddenly decides to charge you for the privilege

/Rant over

I just seen some guys fixing a burst gas pipe about 15 mins ago at 23:30. I feel really sorry for them if i lived down the rode i would offer them a mince pie or something but its a mile a way.

Too far to get into town and i go round with my dad being santa claus jr XD

My excuse? A wife and kids. So sitting here slowly sipping Bacardi and watching Casino Royale on Sky...

"Vodka martini"
"Shaken, not stirred?"
"Do I look like I give a damn?"

Quality :)

If there's 2 nights I never ever go out on,

It xmas eve and halloween.

Its full of yobs with no families, tanked up, ready for a fight (just so they can give someone a black eye for xmas day) - chavy ladies who just want a shag and are the bottom of the barrel ladies who would never get a fella any other time of the year, taxis are none existant and double fares & anyone you meet out will not have a life outside the boozer/club, which is pretty narrow-minded ( & it's the reason they are there on xmas eve)

There's a lot more too life than drinking and bars, and to say thats it's where xmas eve should be spent is a bit 1990'ish.

Why not spend it walking over Sydney Harbour Bridge in 40degree tenperatures. Now that is fun.

well firstly, all my mates are with their families so going out would mean me going alone and I don't fancy drinking with strangers, so indevitably I am at home. At least with being at home, you can ensure you are drinking in with people you know... and have a rather handy toilet near by ;)

I went out, every pub was packed, had 3 pints and went home, wasn't in the mood for it and I am going out on boxing day night round town in fancy dress.

Mega. Watched it the other night but may have to stick it on again.

I've got a stinking cold and want to feel good tomorrow when I'm cooking for everyone so I decided to opt out of going out with our friends tonight.

Chrimstmas eve is family time
There's no one interesting out
There's everyone annoying out
Don't want to be hung over on christmas day
Costs too much
It's cold and wet out side
Don't wanna see the Ex
Building PC's
Worked early this morning

^^^Sounds like i'm moaning about it... which i'm not. I've always seen xmas as a family time, and NYE as mates time. Tempted to stay in with a lovely girl on NYE, do the whole romantic thing, but she's actually looking forward to going out, so i'll refrain from telling her that i have a romantic night in and tag along with her and her mates. Should be a laugh.

its lost its appeal for me these days

been out every xmas eve the last 12 years but this year i fancy waking up sober and actually having enough of an appetite to eat more than 2 mouthfuls of my dinner.

First christmas eve I've had a chance to go out in my old town really, was working at Wetherspoons til last year, which I spent getting slaughtered in Vienna, so went out tonight for a couple. Lots of people, no one too rowdy, but that's my local really - good to see them, but I'm poor and have more alcohol at home, so coming back here made sense.

New years is always my big night anyway, waiting for the rave ;)

Been out, was fun. Wokingham is a good town to live in, especially at Christmas and when you know a lot of people who are out too.

Christmas eve is like the night someone dies, you don't go out to the bar as a mark of respect. You wait until they've been buried or tea time on Christmas day.

What a bizarre analogy. Hmmmm....

Went out but not sure it's the best night for going out. Was a decent one considering I am not a fan of nights out on the booze but I wouldn't have missed it.
