I like to think I have a good taste in games, when it comes to Rpgs I've loved Planescape, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Witcher and many more...

I've had Fallout 3 Installed for ages and not got out of Megaton..

I saw New Vegas for 20 on xbox so bought it incase its more appealing sitting back on my bed, I've played 15 mins and I'm not exactly keen to go back to it.

I dont want to miss out on something special. Can fans spare a minute to tell my what to expect and how best to approach these games.

Hope its just me being impatient.

I loved the first 2 games, and tactics, however Fallout 3 and New Vegas just have not appealed to me at all. Not sure why, not keen on the entire system, inventory, skills, combat etc so I just can't get in to the story at all.

You do feel like you are missing out when other people are saying its amazing, but everyone is different, I've given them both a fair try but no, can't get in to it.

To be honest... When I played FO3, I hated it, played for an hour, gave up... went back to it like a year later, because I can never return games, then shockingly, I fell in love with it... It's probably because I never gave it a chance to get interesting, or whatever, but if you "Force" yourself to play it, you may begin to like it, but then again, is it worth doing that? iuno...

Im in the same boat I dont think fallout 3 or new vegas is that amazing but they are good games just not worth the hype

You need to get into it more. The first hour of play isn't that great, wait till you get more guns and tasks to do :)

I can't get into it either. I guess WoW ruins RPGs in a way because you get accustomed to being spoon fed at every stage of levelling.

Although FO3 is far from being a strightforward game.

I wouldnt say I'm growing out of games but maybe its the open endedness they seem to have compared to what I'm used to. They seem so barren once I leave start areas.

Maybe I prefer games to hold my hand a little, FO seems to drop me in deep end almost.

I know so many people can't be wrong. I generally agree with peoples views on games.

I Think forcing myself to get into them is key lol. This snow and less work hours may help!

The graphics are poo
the animation is poo
its Oblivion with a skirt on
Its bloody awkward
Weird to boot
Overhyped

Yet, at times....... not bad. Weird that.

Really didn't get on with FO3 myself, I loved oblivion but FO3 didn't appeal to me after 5 hours of play. Never went back to it. Think it may have been the setting and the game mechanics which didn't quite grab me.

I got FO3, just done megaton and was going to the next place to start mission then thought meh '**** it'. Don't really understand the hype.

Agree, however it is worth doing that!

I love both fallout games, story, humor, gameplay, customization through mods etc make the games amazing.

Guess different people just have different tastes, recently i think the only game newly released actually worth its price tag is Fallout: New Vegas.

Everything else is just a carbon copy of its predecessors with slightly upgraded graphics and a few different items. (Down graded graphics in the case of Black Ops).

Looking forward to the next installment of Elder Scrolls and New Vegas DLCs :D

You guys who are knocking Fallout 3 have obviously not played it much, if you enjoyed Oblivion that is.

In truth Oblivion was rubbish as far as the same enemies leveled when you leveled, and about 4 actors were used in the game! The combat was clumsy.

Fallout has a much better atmosphere and a much more believable game world. I couldn't play it for more than an hour when I first got it, then I was bored one day and played it a bit longer and got completely hooked!

The side missions are interesting and the enemies don't level up when you do, there is just some places that are more dangerous then others. The general ambience is great.

As for story, well neither Fallout 3 or Oblivion would win an Oscar, I did feel more compelled however to finish the Fallout 3 story, and was impressed with it generally.

I can't wait for the next Elder scrolls game aswell, at the end of the day it blew the rpg market wide open, such a massive world on one disc! Still find it hard to fathom...

It has aged badly though, in my opinion.

Loved Oblivion - played through it several times.

Hated FO3 in every way possible.

I think part of it is because it's such a slap in the face after the genius FO1 & 2.
