mac>PC
PC crashes at every given opportunity, My mac has never crashed once.
PC doesn't like having more then 2 applications open, Mac likes having 1000 open and then likes to do special effects when switching windows.
In conclusion, mac rules PC sucks
I use a mac at work, windows (XP) at home and Ubuntu on laptop (used to be Vista but too slow for me on that spec a machine).
Of them all:
Mac:
- doesn't moan having lots of apps/windows open
- crashes at least once a week prompting a hard reset, at least daily prompting force quit on apps
- extremely quick @ text processing and number crunching and general file reading, but due to *nix more than anything else (work)
- ALL office programs suck! Openoffice doesn't trackchanges/comments well so I can't use that.
Win:
- Moans occasionally about having lots of memory intensive apps open, but infrequently
- Hasn't "crashed" prompting a reset since it's build June 06. Explorer.exe has failed a few times but only through user error.
- Doesn't like massive text files, and is quite sluggish handling them and general file reading
- GAMES. End of debate, really.
- Office 2007 is amazing (imho)
Ubuntu
- moans about lots of apps/windows
- annoying as ****** hell to sometimes do simple tasks (like turning trackpad off involves sudo editing etc...)
- ALL office programs suck! Openoffice doesn't trackchanges/comments well so I can't use that.
- Runs steam through wine.
- FREE.... ffs.... >>>>>FREE<<<<
Windows, for me personally, wins. But I prefer a mac at work as a) it is quicker for the specific things I do, b) everyone else uses a mac so it is easier to hot desk, c) we get a massive discount on mac products.
The number of times I just yearn for Windows is uncanny, though... but through nature rather than (99% of the time) neccesity.
Apologies for typo's.
