Why do our bulbs keep blowing?

Are they the asda smartprice bulbs?

They're not, we buy them from various places. We've got some new ones that were supplied with the new lights. They are just standard GE 60w screw fitting bulbs and I've just replaced one this morning. But we have bought bulbs from Tesco and various hardware stores. There isn't any pattern to the bulbs, there must be some other underlying fault.

Why not use energy efficient bulbs? I used to hate them but newer ones are much better, come on instantly and start off at near full brightness.

I haven't tried them recently but the ones I have used were frankly terrible. But I may have to look again. I'm wondering if perhaps the circuit is being overloaded or something, but how would I know?

:( My office lighting has just gone pop now. Looks like all 3 bulbs have blown in one light. I think these ones are halogen jobbies. I turned the lights on downstairs (new ones in the lounge) and one of the new bulbs I inserted today started to frazzle and flicker. So I switched it off. What is going on???

Perhaps its you? Do the bulbs only blow when you switch them on? If so problem solved, always get somebody else to switch the lights on and off for you ;)
