Why do PC's slow down so much?

thats a myth, 2 colleagues with macs, 1 is saying its slowed down a lot and wants to reinstall it but isnt sure how, and the other is saying its slowed down so much its nearly unusable, both no more than a few years old.

Whilst OS X does slow down over time (and a seven year old computer is going to be slow no matter what) I've never seen any Mac become "unusable" in such a time frame. I deal with a lot of Macs.

I don't I have a Macbook Air ;)

You trolling then? Not clever.

Know what else you don't get on a mac?

Everything.

Yeah, even viruses. :p

Programs become more resource hungry over 7 years. All those years of you clicking "automatically update" on every single one of your programs starts to catch up with.

Haha nothing is perfect bud. Bound to have errors in over 1 million lines of code.

The things I do to keep the pc super fast:

+ Installed an SSD
+ Download CCleaner, run it at start-up.
+ Check when installing software to avoid additional "Bloatware".
+ After installing a piece of software to use on the quick, uninstall it after use.
+ Check for obsolete registry entries. Fix or remove them.
+ keep the hard-drives clean with good management systems.

You should be fine if you do some of these.

Mind going into detail explaining how you go about doing those?

Id like to check im doing roughly what I should be!

Those have Flah storage... They still get bogged down, just not as visible with with a HD.

Use Flash storage on a Windows PC and guess what? Their slowdown also becomes less noticeable.

Its a simple fact that every O/S No matter what, will slow down somewhat, when it has to trundle through more code.

Sure this or that machine will be able to handle it better for one reason or another, but in the end, they all do.

Except my Atari... Thats not had to be reinstalled for over a decade.
