Why do people flash when you overtake

Unless in traffic a car is a Lot faster than a bike round bends.

I reckon a good 600cc sports bike will give the majority of cars a hammering, even around twisty country lanes.

I don't care what anybody says or thinks about this subject as it is a Fact.
I live 5 mins from Mallory and the lap record was Smashed years ago by a Car.
I know a number of Pro bike racers, X bike racers and current.
Facts are facts and not to be argued with :p

Aye, ive had this arguement many many times on various forums, theres far too much factors to make any clear cut winner.

Ok so cars are quicker around Mallory park, next track please!

The track record at Mallory is proof that cars are faster round bends.
The track is predominantly a Bike track and dozens of bikers have tried to right what they think is wrong. They Can't because cars are faster around bends than bikes.

I find the best way to deal with these kind of people, is apair of KC Daylighters mounted rear facing on the parcel shelf...

Even as you accelerate awy, 400,000 candle power does much to shrink their egos again...

If you cant beat em join em...

;)

Your use of the words like 'proof' with such a weak supporting argument is doing you no favours.....

 I am a bike fan but mate a car can go round a bend loads faster than a bike.
The only way a bike beats a car is in power to weight ration which gives it Excellent acceleration compared to Most cars.
Unless in traffic a car is a Lot faster than a bike round bends.

Oh rite, thats right I remember she actually beat me and I was lying!

what are you banging on about, all I said was some daft cow ina porsche can't drve!

The cars vs bikes argument is a long one and we certainly wont send this thread off track by going into it, but the reality always is, a car that will beat a bike costs silly ammounts of money, and driving cars is IMO less fun. I have driven some great cars, and love driving, but I love bikes more, its that simple!

However most people who have nice cars in this country can't drive them, so I will beat them every time! There is only a select few (in the grand scheme of things a select few is a few thousand) who both own a nice car, and can drive it.

Driving/riding is about enjoyment for me, not tenths of seconds around a track. (although it is nice to go fast and quantify your improvements).

Sorry did i hurt your feelings :p

So with the above statement and reading between the lines you agree with me then, cars are faster than bikes around bends.

I agree with what you have wrote above as Yes bikes are much more involving and pound for pound blow cars away for performance.
I was merely making a point which i think i have.

My comments come from MY OWN personal experience not from Google mate.

I wouldn't be able to tell if they did, long gone!
Although a carrera 4S made me have to turn the wick up once, she was doing 40 on a nice A-road, so I went past her on the bike at a reasonable pace, she suddenly went into race mode or something!! :D quite funny, women who have no idea how fast bikes are, and think the car their rich boyfriend got them is the fastest thing in the world, then they brake down to about 20mph to take the next lovely sweeping corner! :D

LMAO! exactly, like i said on another rant or might have been on here, 2 many damn ppl think theyre 50p cars can beat a bike as if they have a veyron lol

Edit, yea a lot of sports card take bends faster than bikes for obvious reasons, what were saying is the average persons car aint got nothing over the average sports bike

You are so misinformed it is hardly worth trying to communicate with you.

No, I'm just sick of people comparing bikes, to hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cars. The fact is then a bike is damn hard to beat round a corner, and when ridden well (tough to do) they are very quick in all situations, the fact they are accessable to a lot of peoples salaries makes it even better.

I am yet to see a fair bike vs car test yet the fairist one I saw was john reynolds on a GSXR 1000 against someone in a radical, but it was raining!!! I'd like to see john on his british superbike instead in the dry! it was close in the rain on an £8000 bike!

you you quite possibly are right, the gap isn't big enough to say a car owns a bike though, and would change track to track.

I really dont care about lap times, do we ride bikes/drive cars to enjoy the experience and push ourselves, or look at timing sheets!

Surley the only way to give a half definate answer would be lengthy testing of various cars and bikes on various tracks and roads? Unless your personal experience extends to that?
