Why do people pay £34.99 for a COD Season Pass

haha :D nice debate :p

Debate? You just wandered in accused everyone else of being wrong because thats the way its done these days (I think, I struggled to understand though)

You havent made a valid point for argument at all, and because people just accept it and buy all the 'limited edition premium one time only map pack' offers is why it keeps happening.

This is also why PC games seemed to have jumped up to £40 for a new game now, because mugs will pay.

Well I honestly can't think of many PC games that have jumped to £39.99 except CoD, and that's Activision which well... I really don't have to explain why it's gone up, they still demanded £39.99 for CoD4 until recently.

Even EA are much better than Activison, they dropped quite a few of their titles from 39.99 to 19.99, including Mass Effect 3 which is less than a year old now. Infact they offer the entire Mass Effect franchise for £39.99 now. EA still offer quite a decent amount of quality with their titles aswell which is more than can be said for their rival Activision (rival in the sense they are both top of the list for the ****, anti-consumer businesses).

Activision are the new EA except they are so much worse, I actually think EA and Ubisoft for that matter have slowly improved a lot, maybe that or Activision are just that horrific now that the lesser evils have been made to look like saints.

I'm mainly talking about alleged AAA titles with regards to the £40 issue, yeah COD is one of the main offenders every time, but also:

Aliens : CM on steam is labelled as being dropped from 40 to 30 for as long as i can remember, for a game that had 0 reviews, 0 demo and by all accounts isn't as advertised.

Company of heroes 2, preorder currently 40 and has swathes of release DLC lined up already

move on dlc is the norm and has been for quite a few years now..
Your trying to say £34.99 for a DLC pack has been the normally for quite a few years
Which games have you payed around £34.99 for only a single DLC pack over the last few years ??

99% of the time I pay less then £35 for the actual game never mind the DLC pack..

when did dlc start over two years ago yep .

EA drop prices because they are not as big or have as big titles to sell as activision. seems like it is just cod hate and activision hate

as i have said previously  i dont like dlc but i do understand that unless 90 percent stop buying it it aint going to change and that isnt going to happen so just pay up or dont play.

also some actually enjoy the dlc so if they enjoy the dlc and got the moneys worth what does it matter?

basically it comes down to people arguing about game content which probably could have been added at the start or in the main game. the big companies are businesses . they are here to make money not play games.

so its all just blah blah blah . EA and Activision wont stop . so why go on about it.

True, I'm surprised at CoH 2 being so expensive though, I really do think that the more popular a game is (as that franchise is regarded very highly on PC) the more they'll charge for them, which is just a disgusting practice. Aliens CM was predictable though, it had a ton of hype up to release with faked demos and the obviously huge community around the Alien franchise (probably the most popular Sci-Fi movies of all time) but Sega and Gearbox knew nobody was going to like or buy the rubbish a week after release so they tried to rip the initial purchaser off as much as they could.

You're joking right? Activision are an awful company due to Vivendi. They are the worst publishers out, period, they do absolutely nothing to benefit the community except drain the hard earned cash from the poor, naive drones that flood to buy their games.

IMO AAA just stands for the amounts of companies pulling the strings. i.e the corporation who own the publisher who exploit the developer, with a few exceptions of course.

I quite enjoy the COD games, especially COD4 which was the best from the lot.

They are ok for a quick blast online, although the enjoyment has decreased as the sequels have rolled in.

But i have never bought a single piece of DLC for any of the 3 MW games (not bought any Treyarch stuff) I refuse to buy any DLC of this nature, and these new season pass stuff costing the same as the game itself is insanity. Anyone who buys it needs to be shot as they are spoiling it for the rest of us, as publishers will remove more stuff from the game as they know idiots will pay for it as day 1 DLC.

I dont mind DLC like Shivering Isles on Oblivion etc etc, this season pass and day 1 DLC just sucks ass. I hope it hurts the publishers as i know myself and a few other people refused to buy DarkSiders 2 because of the day 1 DLC, waited a few months and picked up the game cheap as chips with the DLC included. I would have bought it full price on launch, so they lost out.

its the truth ! few nerds on pc forum going to change the dlc process of a multi-billion pound company ? = no (would love to stop the dlc and just put content in but what dream boat are people on ? it aint happening )

omeka you seem to not grasp EA are a mouse compared to Activision.

why do they not drop cod prices very often ? because they dont need to !

doesn't matter about what the company is like there product is red hot it sells and people wonder why they charging top dollar for a hot selling product. its simple business .

the argument isnt about cod or EA its about dlc at end of day and its a dead end subject as it will not stop no matter how many pc nerds rage .

Ok you're definitely a business mogul and I'm just an internet nerd so theres obviously no point discussing it further with you.

However i've still got £100's in my bank which probably would have been spent if I thought i wasn't being ripped off, so I'm gonna keep nerd raging with my cash and wait for a well produced game to spend my money on.

I'm very very puzzled why anyone in their right mind would buy Black Ops 2 after the fiasco that was Black Ops 1 launch... and this is coming from someone who enjoys MW2 and even 3 multiplayer. Treyarch very obviously don't give a **** about their customers.

Personally I enjoy Black Ops 2, I haven't spent as much time on it as I had in previous games but if I had I'd probably spend the money on the season pass. The reason for this is that the variety is nice. MW2 was the only game I did buy the map packs for and I didn't mind at the time, ok yes the cost is rather high but spaced out over the year it didn't dent my bank account and I played it more than any other games. BO2, at the moment no because I don't play it so much. If you like the game and they release extra content then yeah buy it, if you don't which so many of you seem not to, don't.

basically op hates cod lets post about it even though bf does exact same thing  .
Something tells me I don't hate COD games
