My mum is a great passenger in my Prelude - and she can read when I'm about to stick my toe down, and will brace herself accordingly 
Any time I apologise she says "oh, I knew you were going to do that anyway"
I guess that's what happens when you drive to/from work every day for 3 years together!

Cymatty, I understand the point of your thread. I probably would have done actually the same in that situation.
To all the people going OMG street racing.... Your wrong, he probably didn't even break the speed limit, the road could have been a NSL or 50. It's not like it was nailing it around bends where going too fast means car in ditch or into oncoming traffic. Acceleration is fun.

I'm quite annoyed at the fact that Golf GTIs seem to be a Traffic Light GP target for chavs in their Corsas and Puntos (at least around my way)It's driving me mad.
I usually ignore them but if I've had a crap day, am on my own, and the roads are quiet I'll give it a go

I had my first TLGP the other day...........got slaughtered. Pesky R8s and their 420bhp! Sounded amazing though and thats what i was aiming to get out of it

It's quick enough to tide me over until the next car but the Stigma is definitely there. I think it is rather amusing, id imagine you get some fairly expensive machines who get embarrassed HARD !

I used to play ball at the traffic lights, now I can't be bothered. If someone thinks they 'proper smoked me' off the lights, let them get on with it - i'll save my fuel thanks

The best one at traffic lights with something that you can easily beat, is to rev your engine then turn left at a normal pace.
