Why do tumble dryers spin so long in one direction

Buttons on the sheet would be good to pin them the mattress if they’re not correctly sized.

Had one that was a nightmare kept pinging off, stuck it in the bin.

I’ve never noticed, i keep my tumble drier in one of those garden shed things, frees up room in the house.

Sheets have elastic corners so they stay put and don't come out/loose. Sounds like some of you don't do your share of the housework :p

Also, only heathens buy sheets that do not have elastic corners, those do come loose for obvious reasons lol.

I've actually used my clothes dryer function for the first time ever (in over 6 years) as we had so much excess solar that we might as well. However, I find leaving the laundry in the laundry room with good ventilation is all you need.

Alternatively, use a dehumidifier which uses very little electricity in comparison to the dryer.

dryer airflow ducts aren't bidirectional, so they favour rotating into oncoming airflow,

as said if you haven't binned it and bought a dehumidfier as Martin Lewis (we're not worthy) suggests you'll be going to hell, can you air dry with a low setting on air fryer, its's probably cheaper.

My cheap Candy heat pump does 50 50 as far as I can tell.

Have you tried using a different mode?

We have a Candy heat-pump. On some programs it does more in one direction. Ours is the wierd one with the condenser tank in the door.

Cubboard dry is more than enough, they don't need to be bone dry coming out.
Expect greta at your door tomorrow morning for not using a cloths line/horse/drying rack indoors.
The 2 clothes horses were already full of actual clothes and it’s winter so no point using the line . If it’s any consolation it’s a heat pump dryer.

Mine is the same, although it's plumbed into the waste pipe so goes straight into the drain.

Sadly not an option for us. The two spaces near the waste pipe are taken by the washer and the dishwasher either side of the sink. We've had to put the dryer in the space that the previous had for an undercounter fridge on the opposite side of the kitchen. I fear the weight of the water is eventually gonna break the small plastic mounts on the tank

Bedsheets are indeed very annoying in the dryer. Everything magically ends up inside the sheet.
Even my Samsung which does seem to spend as much time in both directions does it.

Bedsheets need to go into the wash with other bedsheets and nothing else if you mix with regular it all ends up in a ball which stays wet if its all sheets they still go into a ball but at least they dry out evenly.

Don't they spin the other way round in the southern hemisphere? It's also why you rarely see tumble dryers used close to the equator.
