why do washing machines have a view?

What if you were doing your washing in space? :p

If you're close enough to a massive enough object to have non-negligable mavity, then there would still be an 'upwards' and water still wouldn't spill upwards (unless propelled by a stronger force).

If you aren't, then there's no such thing as 'upwards' so the question is void. If, for some reason, water was being pushed into the inside of the lid when you opened it, then it would come out the top of the top-loader washing machine.

Another one i dont get if you get a condensing tumble dryer they dont have windows, yet normal tumble dryers do.

One of our cats had an obsession with staring at the thing when the wash was in. Luckily he grew out of it.

So you can see if it's still full of water before opening the door obviously, top loaders don't need one as water wont spill upwards.

But some toploaders do have them, I believe the window is the purely to see if something or indeed someone is in the washer that shouldn't be.

as pointed out cats do vernture into washing machines and tumble dryers, a wet cat maybe clean but a drowned cat is not much fun, likewise you've all heard those stories of stupid parent how turn the machine on only to find that htere baby has crawled inside to hide.
