Streeteh said:That is the most rubbish i have ever heard, i'm a gamer, have been and always will. Nintendo are among the best at creating "easy to learn, hard to master" games, which are the elements most important to make a truely excellent game (strikers would be my first example, i'm sure as usual mariokart will also follow the same high standards).
They were. Nintendo haven't produced the same quality titles that we seen on the NES, SNES and N64. Miyamoto doesn't make proper games anymore because he oversees many projects so he can't put his full commitment into anymore of his masterpieces. Twilight Princess was weak, it was never as good as the OOT, LTTP or Link's Awakening and it hardly added anything new. Mariokart looks like the same game released on gamecube but more simplified to cater to the casuals, just because its online doesn't mean it will reinvent the series.
I had a Wii and I respect what Nintendo is doing. They have done a great job reaching out to people who haven't played games but people who think they still make great games for the hardcore need to go back to this years E3 and look at what Miyamoto made. They are aiming for a entirely different audience and to be honest I don't really think there are many households where Mum is playing Wii all day. The majority of owners will still be children, its the cheapest next-gen console parents can buy for them at the moment and that is why its selling incredibly well.
I still love Nintendo, I think Mario Galaxy looks great but I would definitely get more enjoyment out of something like LittleBigPlanet. Oh and this whole family thing, my PS3 is sitting in my living room because its a great multimedia device, my family and friends played the Wii for a day and got fed up of it
