Why does I7 4770K not have TSX?

As far as I know, TSX is Intels Multicore enhancements for their new Hasewell chips so why does Intel not implement this into the i7 K series. TSX is found in the 4770, S and T versions though.

I had a little read of what TSX was and it keeps all the threads running at the same time to stop confusion in the CPU. Could it be because it is an unlocked CPU that all the cores might be running at different clock speeds like 3.9, 3.8 and 3.7.

So they don't destroy their server products. These instructions - as with things like VT-d - are things that you would want in a server (virtualising/database etc...). Given how much Xeons go for, selling an unlocked CPU at £250 that might be overclocked to performance that is better than a £800 Xeon would be marketing madness.

Removing this technology from the overclock chips means they are of limited interest in corporate environments where Xeons are more often sold.

Yeah it is curious. Off my head, possibly:
Difficulty validating the hardware at high clocks; product differentiation to encourage non k sales for non enthusiast purposes rather than a default reccomendation; providing a future feature to encourage k edition sales of saltwell which otherwise might not be a great ipc increase but will give nice marketing numbers; prevent excessive performance gap by boosting their non k multithreaded performance while maintaing max ghz oc's on k's.

Some combination of any of the above in any order of priority/lack thereof or purposefulness/incidental convenience.
