just because they have run the system up and got a stable overclock, it doesn't necessarily mean that with your hardware it will also be stable. It may be that your power supply isn't giving out a stable enough voltage or something

this is a very good point and something that needs to be highlighted.
with overclocked bundles we have to account for user error as well as poor quality hardware matches.
there have been numerous occasions where i have seen people put 4.2GHz rampage extreme i7 bundles into £15 cases with no airflow and wonder why they are getting high temps, as well as using 400w jeantech PSUs to run a power hungry amd phenom II with crossfire 5870 cards.
whilst this stuff sounds crazy there is only so much we can do to hold someones hands through a system build without building it ourselves.
i think OcUK support at the moment does a good job of ensuring we get to the bottom of problems like this quickly and with minimal fuss for the customer
obviously we use the experience to improve the products and the support as we go
They didn't even put any thermal paste on my cpu =( so i had to use the stock cooler for the i7 =P instead of the fenrir o.0
i get the impression from reading this thread...
1. you are using a stock cooler on a 4ghz overclock
2. you expected us to preinstall your thermal paste
can you clarify if you are using the stock cooler at the overclock settings?
this is an exceptionally bad idea
thermal paste is goopy and horrible, it would be smeared all over every capacitor of your motherboard if we were to install it before it shipped.
this would cause it to short out the board.
i think i have already picked this up in customer support but if i havent then just post in there, myself and my team will be able to assist you and see what is causing the problems you are expreriencing
