Why halo not on pc :(

Soon hopefully. They're trying to unify the whole "Xbox Experience" into one platform from, and most of the supposed "Exclusives" have already made their way over to PC.

There's always been multiple entries for Halo on the Steam Database, but nothing has ever come of it... yet.

Halo 1 + 2 are on PC (but hard to find).
Halo3 is on PC in Russia only right now.

You can also buy 2 x Halo Spartan Assault mobile games on Steam.

There is also a Halo DX12 RTS coming to Win 10 only sometime next year.

MS are unlikely to release the console exclusive Halo games on PC ever as they are console seller titles according to MS so until Xbox 360 emulation comes to Win 10 next year either buy a console or wait for MS to realise they should bring these to PC.

The Win 10 Xbox 360 emulation is literally that it emulates the console with no extra features but you will need either the original game on DVD or buy a digital version from MS. No date has been set for this its sometime in the next year or so.

Halo got boring after number 3 anyway, I would rather see Forza make its way to PC or Rockstar port Red Dead Redemption etc :)

I would adore an up to date halo multiplayer game on pc!

Halo 2 was my first mp game and I loved it! Taught me so much for example I never knew how promiscuous my mother was in America .

Halo 2 was incredible. The sequels have all been massive multiplayer disappointments in comparison.

Indeed. I'm not sure if it's just because it was my first mp game but I have nothing but find memories of it.

Admittedly I haven't played halo since ODST but the sequels had nothing on halo 2 and I never felt the visuals lived up to halo 1 either. The maps were so sweet!

The reason is simple, on Xbox Halo is a big fish in a small pond. When Halo 1/2 got released on PC, AKA the home of FPS games, they became small fishes in a big pond and got eaten.

What are all these PC FPS like Halo?

Not sure if serious, but if you weren't around at the time then one of the ones that was probably chiefly responsible for Halo's failure was UT2003 which launched around the same time and was a better multiplayer game in just about every way imaginable. Also Counterstrike and Team Fortress were still going quite strong at that point.

As far as single player games go the are just too many to mention. This was Halos big problem in trying to conquer the PC, it was never an A class game, just a solid B+ in a world of C class games, when it came to the PC it had to swim with the bigger fish and got eaten. That and the graphics were subpar without a TV to smooth them.

When all was said and done, Halos trip to PC land was viewed the same as Manchester United's decision not to defend their FA cup in 2000 but to go to South America and get annihilated in the World Club Championship instead: A failure.

Not to mention that Quake 3 and the original UT were still pretty popular in 2003. Battlefield 1942 was pretty big as well, along with DoD and RTCW:ET

Then by 2005 you had FEAR, Painkiller, Desert Combat mod for BF1942, not to mention Quake 4 and CoD titles as well.

So yeah - pretty much the Halo games got squashed :p
