Don
Currently just 3 x 16TB drives, fully loaded it could be 112TB (RAID5).
112tb raid 5... You must be incredibly brave

Wait....RAID5 on 16TB drives? That’s an interesting choice.

That does look Great
Well done on the build
Thanks, sit's next to my little comms cabinet that keeps things relatively neat
I was considering putting it in the cabinet but I think for heat sake and the fact I don't mind the way it looks it might stay outside (also would mean me having to move all the rails and basically move everything)
Your going to need a bigger room soon
Yes but if your QNAP is copper you’ll need the correct SFP+ module.
Yes pretty much, you can get the right DAC cheap enough. I have two of the same switches and they’re really good for the price. My qnap is SFP+ so it should be ok? It has a duel 10Gb ports.
Do I need to connect a 1Gb cable from my router to the POE and one SFP+ cable from the switch to the Nas
And then a SFP+ cable from the switch to my PC SFP+ nic?
Thanks for helping

The MikroTik CRS305 is not easy to setup to me.
Are you running it in SWOS or RouterOS? If you’re running RouterOS that might explain the slow speeds.
Hardware reset. Plug cables in. Leave it be. If it still doesn’t do 10GbE speeds then send it back. It’s a switch. Sure, it’s a switch with two operating systems but fundamentally it’s a plug & play switch. You shouldn’t have to do anything to it. The default configuration is RouterOS with all ports bridged (a switch).
