Why is there a helicopter flying over my house at 5am?

Is there any web site where I can find out why some idiots are flying a helicopter over my neighbourhood at 5am, and maybe why it's fitted with an engine that so loud it sounds like it was fitted in the 1940's? Never have I wished fatal insomnia on anyone more than on this pilot.
 
I've often thought of putting in a complaint about the amount of times i've heard the police helicopter above but then it's clicked that they are probably trying to catch criminals and i'd rather not have my house burgled or car stolen.

It's not as if I live in a bad area either.
 
They're difficult to park, much easier to tether it and leave it there. At least they didn't slam the doors.
 
They normally go up at night with the thermal cameras searching for cannabis farms. Probably time to get all those plants out of your house!
 
They were after the nasty chavs hiding in your garden. Next time go outside and shine a laser pointer at the sky to show them where you are.
 
Well then next time just whip out your handy RPG and show them you displeased you are with their consideration of your time.
