Why is there a helicopter flying over my house at 5am?

in the bad old days of the troubles when i was a student there would be army helicopters hovering over west belfast pretty much 24/7. you get used to the drone after a while. i think the army base in bessbrook south armagh was the busiest helipad in the whole of europe for a while http://books.google.com/books?id=OK...Q6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=bessbrook helipad&f=false

there also used to be lucrative scams going regarding farmers claiming for stillbirths/deaths of livestock due to helicopter activity

Yeah i wondered about this last year and guessed they were using thermal cameras to spy on us, it's quite creepy when they hover near your house for 10 minutes just watching, you know they're up to something a bit different than chasing criminals when they act like that.

The good news is they will probably start slowly changing to things like, microcopters, airships and predator drones, you won't know they're watching then, on second thought that probably isn't good news huh?

it could be flying over houses looking for unusually large heat signs to see if anyones growing dope in their attic
