Apart from fishsim 2 which is DirectX 7 and its 2d,there is not 1 fishing game that supports course fishing with realistic animations and models, i would like a course fishing simulation type game for the pc that is the real deal with carp tench bream etc,but its never going to happen due the demand for fps games...

Yeah, all the big name developers are wasting their time on the likes of Farm Simulator rather than making a decent fishing game.

I would imagine there is not a market for it. I am very surprised there are games such as Farm Simulater, Trucking games and the Train games I see on steam.

My friend had a Dreamcast fishing game with a little reeler controller, that was surprisingly fun.

I had that, sega bass fishing iirc, used to spend hours on that bloody game

These days the only game I know with a semi working fishing game is WoW

perhaps the limited number of replies you have got, provide an insight into game developers market research?
:)

Not exactly for pc but on android theres a nice little fishing game thats free called Ifishing lite. Surprisingly fun too and looks aint that bad.

I wish i had my amiga still there was a awesome fishing game on that but duno the name but was really really mint to play.

Big Game Fishing ?

probably, and i dont mean to sound harsh in any way, but it would be as boring as looking at a blank screen then getting a "bite" after 30 mins or so :/ ?

maybe im just being pessimistic though

I'd have thought the same but they gave away one called Fishing Kings on iOS a while back and it was surprisingly good fun, I ended up playing it a fair bit. Never seen one of that quality on PC though.

OP - I'd look to the iPad as there's a few good ones on that.

the one i mentioned is pretty entertaining me and friends used to play on ts for added laughs.

theHunter i play are thinking of introducing bow fishing first am trying to get the rod and real approach first added though :p . thing is bow fishing is pretty big in usa.

Surely a fishing game cant be boring, there is a rush to catch that monster and get him in,also a multiplayer fishing game would work nicely, seeing other players catching fish while you are just watching taking a break,i love the idea of that, there is a lot of tactics involved with fishing, its not just about sitting and waiting.

Came into the thread to have a good chuckle but its got me thinking. Imagine you can go fishing in loads of different places like Amazon, Artic Circle, Norway Fjords etc. Amazing scenic locations and you nees to sail their in your customised boat or huge fishing haulers/whaling boats, maybe even have a career modewhere you build a fishing empire. Shark attacks, storms, tsunamis. Hmm....
