Why not remake old games?

I agree

SS2 was the best game ever made IMO!
But god it looks old now!

I never played it initially and i've tried to dl it and play it but (aside from crashes) i just can't see myself playing it thanks to the look and complexity of the game.

whenever i see this question asked i always wonder why bother? i would rather see gaming evolve and experience new things, so no I probably wouldnt pay for remakes. HOWEVER as someone who has never played god of war I will probably be picking up the rereleases on the ps3 so as you said it can be good for gamers who never played the games first time around

Theory =/= Reality. In theory developers would create better and better games after they learn from past mistakes. In reality developers are churning out more and more **** each year and instead of learning from mistakes, they excel at making them over and over.

Case in point, C&C4 versus C&C3 versus Red Alert 2. I'd much rather see a very outdated game remade properly than this rubbish. Hell look at Doom 1, Final, 2 and 3. The original series are staple games that even now are fun to play. Then they made Doom 3 and tried to be scary... and only 1 level pulled it off in the entire game.

I downloaded the demo of SS2 and all I got was crashes and lock-ups until I disabled all bar one of the cpu cores. Then it ran fine. :)

I wish someone would hurry up and do it to Final Fantasy 7 so I can get on and play this apparently incredible game without it looking like a Playmobil scene. Im not an all graphics no substance kind of guy but I have limits!

are you kidding me?
This game is amazing and i STILL play it to this day!
as i do with the Crash Series (1 - 3) and FF 8 and 9 - all on my psp :)

Final Fantasy games are about the gameplay, about the story and not about the graphics
okay maybe they are when the game is released as they ussually have the best graphics going
but that shouldnt stop you playing one of the finest RPG games ever made because you cant see the peoples fingers (they have stumps, its not there fault! :) )

I wouldn't argue against this, even if all the game play is the same, just MOHAA with updated graphics would be awesome. To this day it is my favourite and most played game I must have plough literally thousands of hours into that game.

i would pay 49.99€ for MOH:AA with new graphics but so long as they dont change anything else.

5v5 MOH:AA on V2 in clan matches is the best map of it's genre.

3 playable objective maps yet literally 10,000s clan games under its belt....

even at 8 year old the game play is still 2nd to none :D

Snap. I'd love a FF7 remake, couldn't play the original now because it just looks too crusty by today's standards.

Yep, used to play CK Realism on freezetag objective with The Hunt, V2 and The Bridge, also used to throw in St Lo and St Renan on the |GHOST| server.

Incidentally, why hasn't Freezetag ever taken off? It was brilliant on MOHAA.

Man, Fallout 1 & 2 remakes would be amazing if kept true to the originals.

SS2 and Zelda OoT would be great too.

Many others...

there are three games I would love to see remade with todays level of tech ;-

1) Deus Ex

2) Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2

3) Elite

the mere mention of those games being redone should give anyone wood !
