Why should I buy a gaming mouse?

Razer if you're a leftie freak or have girl hands... logitech otherwise :D

LOL:D its true, i cant use mice smaller than my 518. i just dont get on with them. My friend uses one of those mini mice, you know - the ones bearly bigger than a 50 pence piece :o im thinking wtf, you have to move them with your finger tips  stupid little mice lol

for the record im a leftie, but i use the mouse in my right hand. yeah, im odd.

Gaming mice make a substantial difference, but make sure to get a good mouse mat too, combined they are the (most essential) gaming equipment of your PC, assuming it isn't a pile of ....

Any decent mouse with high DPI will suffice.

Just pick one that suits you best.... i'm an MS mouse guy myself....

Tried a few Razer and Logitech mice, and still don't like them, its just down to preference.

Edited - makes sense now.

And a mouse mat does more to get in the way then anything else for me... another preference.

Love my G5, the DPI settings on top are ideal for gaming. Wanna HS people with a scout? Then knock the dpi down and move 1 pixel per foot of movement :D . Plus, ive got huge hands and its just the right size.

I recently got the HABU. I think its brilliant. Moved away from some generic stuff. Extremely ergonomic and incredibly accurate.

Coupled with the Icemat 2nd edition

*** :D

G7=Best mouse out there. And yes, it makes a huge difference coming from a crappy £5 Dell mouse to a world class mouse like the G7 :D

Nice :D Good job i've got one of them on the way ;)

I'm having second thoughts about the MX518 now. Its coming tomorrow as well. I've heard the tracking is inferior compared to the Deathadder and G5. In the real world is it really noticeable and could I tell the difference? Whats the deathadder like? Worth the money?

you'll find more people recommending the mx518 than any other mouse. that should be reassuring enough lol. the tracking is very accurate. compared to the 518 no, the deathadder isnt worth the money. if you want to wring every last bit of accuracy out of your mouse then go for it, but imo its not worth the outlay.

Have had my mx510 for about 3 years now and has been an really good mouse for both gaming, web browsing and desktop work. I'm looking to get a new one though my right button is starting to give out as it has taken a lot of abuse, looking to get a g5 2007 once somewhere stocks them :)

Well, I can get the Deathadder for £35 so if I was buying new it might be worth it purely for how good it looks (depending on what the OP is paying for the MX518), however you would struggle to notice a difference between the two in actual use.

In that case go for the Deathadder, definitely worth it for that price!

Is that off a friend or something? Looking to get one myself (upgrade from my 2 year old 518 ):D

As for mousemats, unless you already have a nice desk surface, it's almost always better to get a nice one. I've had both the QPAD XL and the Icemat and with either my aim is much better that on some generic surface.

Well I'm paying £33 for a new MX518 :o . Should have been £27.99 but I paid extra for delivery. Don't trust home delivery network, they always leave it at my neighbours house and I don't really get on with him. Might have to send it back anyway as I think I'll be getting the blue colour version, which I don't like.

Where can you get a deathadder for that price anyway? Is that including delivery?
