Poll: Why this forum doesn't have an option for a custom avatar made by a user ?

oh no. we don't want any of this female stuff. have to keep the forum manly. otherwise there will be a beauty section next.

With some of the biggest threads on here being about shaving, aftershave/EDT and clothing... (never mind the fitness stuff alluded to above).

Having everything nice and standard keeps it all looking sleek, I spend most of my working day on this forum, I'm pretty sure because my screen displays the OcUK blue background and white text so often that most people in the office assume its a work related system I'm accessing

If everyone got to pick big colourful / animated avatars it would give the game away!!!

It is pretty trivial to disable avatars in the User Control Panel.

I didn't knew I could disable avatars in the ucp, I must have skipped this option since I looked in there and it wasn't there. I disabled them since I will be vomiting from seeing the same avatar every 15 seconds ...

We need upvotes, member rankings, thanks/kudos points, + and - reputation points as well as all the above.

Let's be honest, having customised avatars would just make this place look like it was full of adolescent dickheads. Why distract attention and spoil a clean look.

As for like buttons, just another waste of real estate, achieving absolutely nothing apart from more clutter. If you can't say it in words then move on.

I would rather have a custom avatar then some dick-ish guy who holds a gun as my avatar for me the avatars makes forums more lively and provides everyday experience of viewing the forum even more fun. I dunno about you tho.

I will agree with you on this one, those likes, reputation and no really needed features would only clutter database and made this website and forum load even slower, not to mention how much MB you can save

i think the admin should remove the edit/delete your post option too

then people might have to think a little more before hitting submit.

Keep it as it is - only thought is as suggested some time ago (when Alan Rickman passed away) consider adding some more contemporary villains to the list.

The other thing that would be handy is a list of who some of the more obscure actors/characters are, as there's still a few which are a complete mystery to me.
