Ive downloaded intel toolbox for my new ssd today and when i fire it up it says it cant connect with my ssd!

Any ideas as to why not? The ssd has my os on and boots just fine

cheers

Driver issue I think, have you installed the latest Intel Matrix Storage drivers?

Also, check in your bios to see if you have AHCI enabled.

Fixed it. I changed nvidias network controller for the microsoft one and it now works. Will this make a difference to the speed of the drive? It dosnt seem to boot as quickly after this change

weird, must be an nVidia motherboard thing. Was it just the LAN drivers you rolled back, or was it a whole load of motherboard drivers?

I disabled the nvidia ones. Im thinking of re installing them though cos its performance is dire with these other ones! Slower than my old hdd! For the sake of toolbox the loss of performance is not worth it imo

Well I have to say it. Im not impressed with this SSD. For all the hype my veloci's were faster in Raid0. Straight. Im thinking of selling it thats how bad it is!

You definitely have some sort of problem. I have the same Intel drive on this laptop and it has transformed it, massively quicker and that's without AHCI and using Intel's toolbox on a weekly basis...

Indeed, I went from RAID0 Raptors to an 80GB Intel and it was in a totally different league.
