Why?

Everyone has likes and dislikes. PS3 pad is like all the other pads for playstation, And they work fine. The comments like Pad is too light and pad feels flimsy, Maybe to some, But to be honest, They don't interfere in the slightest with my gaming. And I don't notice these "problems" atall.

That said, 360's design doesn't interfere in any 360 gaming either. And it's also a nice interface.

I just feel some people get used to something, and then find it hard to adjust.

As said, It's down to preference. But I don't feel the Pad is anywhere near as bad as some say.

as for bad ergonomics in the pad. I haven't noticed, But that said. I play guitar, Which could be reasoning in why I don't notice buttons that are out of reach, etc.

If youre used to one pad then its clear youre gonna find the other one awkward! Common sense really as theyre both completely different. I like the PS3 controller!

The GC pad was decent, but nowehere near as versatile as the 360 pad.

If the 360 pad had a half decent d-pad, I think it would be universally recognised as the best pad ever.

In your opinion though, a lot of people are happy with the PS3 controller, myself included, I was happy with the Sixaxis and AM happier with the DS3, I was also a very big fan of the 360 controller, they are just different is all.

No, not in my opinion. Ergonomics is fact, not opinion.

After reading the thread about which console people would get rid of, PS3 or 360, I noticed a lot of comments about the PS3 controller. Now, I was interested to know, why do people dislike it so much?

Personally I have no problem with it, if I had to choose between the 360's and the PS3's I would say neither - I would much rather have the main body of the 360 one (inc. rumble), with the in-built re-charge of the PS3 and the PS3's joysticks (they feel more fluid for me).

Scort.

I truly believe this is all down to a persons personal preference, I have owned both the PS3 and the Xbox360.
I disliked the six axis controller mainly because of the triggers and that the design made my hands ache after more than 2 hours solid playing time.
This is not to say it is a rubbish controller but it definitely didn't suit me as much as the 360 controller.
This is way I own a 360 and not a PS3 as control is for me one of the most important aspects of gaming, it is also why I spend most of my gaming time on my 360 and not my PC.

Aesthetics is opinion, Ergonimics is fact.

Ergonimically, the Xbox360 pad is more comfortable to the vast majority of gamers (the Western world on average have much bigger hands than Eastern gamers).
The PS3 pad is older and therefore Ergonomically out-dated, especially as it was designed by an Eastern company for Eastern gamers, hence why it's too small.

Sorry but I disagree, it is not a FACT that the 360 pad is 'better' than the PS3 pad, nor is it fact that SNES pad is better than the Megadrive pad.

It is purely down to personal preference
(Though I'm yet to find someone who prefers the Atari Jaguar pad over anything :D)

And on the West and East thing, In Japan the 360 pad gets slated for being too big and uncomfortable, sound familiar?

my biggest issue with the PS3 pad when ive used it is its weight. I've also got used to the recess on the analogue sticks of the 360 pad and wouldnt be able to use a pad without them anymore.

Comes close the being better than the N64 pad :)

It has terrible ergonomics unless you have girly small hands, the deadzones and resistances of the analogue sticks are horrendous, the triggers are the worst I've come across and your fingers easily slip off the frankly idiotic convex design and the bundled usb charging cable is stupidly short.
