Why?

That would have been awesome.
Mr. I wish I had an M5 wafting about the country lane "ahhhhh, an arse!"

Perhaps his previous car was an E39 M5 and like most people the time came where he had to be a bit more realistic with his next car, and he then ended up with a newer 5 Series? There are loads of M3 and M5 plates on diesel Range Rover Sports, 130i's, etc etc after this sort of thing has happened.

I doubt he honestly gave a stuff as he watched your shed fly past him. He was comfortably cruising along listening to the radio.

Oh and by the way, M5 BEX is fitted to a V8 545i with well over 300bhp.

or perhaps his the plate has got nothing to do with the car and is just a coincidence it's on a BMW

I don't see me driving a 20k car (errr I should say owning one as I actually am driving a 30k car at the moment :p) therefore I'm not looking down on him, more looking up at him wondering where I went wrong ;)

Or, loosely translated, how to cover all possible angles in one sentence ;)

I've got to say I agree with the 'I've seen worse' sentiment. I actually quite like it TBH.

I do have dubious taste at times though ;)

See quite a lot of Asian men and women in decent marques with expensive mods. I wouldn't follow in their footsteps but I wish I had their success. Does seem to be quite the stereotype though.

My boss is guilty of having a V8 and V12 plate, but they are on the appropriate cars thankfully.

Not the worst car i've seen but the thing that jumps out at me is the cost at £22k, I think similar spec/mileage cars are dipping closer to £16k.

Of course were i interested i'd want a further discount for having to de-barry it :)

How do people with that little taste afford £20k+ cars?
Well, not everyone who is well off has exquisite taste do they? Case and point:

:D

that car does ming badly. standard it looks absolutely fine, id rather have spend the money on making it go faster, or just get a faster car

It isn't that bad, it is just a BMW with a body kit on it and bigger rims, it is fitted well and isn't in any silly colours or full of flashing lights.

I wouldn't buy it but it is still a good car.

Jealousy isn't becoming.

Why keep the plate though? Surely if you're changing car to a normal 5 series and have a plate saying M5 you're just going to look like a ****er wishing they had an M5 to most people.

Why would you want to be out pottering along on a bit of NSL on a saturday, surely if you're into the whole performance car thing you're into speed? Not doing 5-10mph under the limit like some old woman?

And I misread it then, looked like a 530d badge but then again i've been told i need glasses more than once.
