I'm sure I've seen somthing like this before but can't see to find it. Somthing that ideally gives signal strength as well.

Any ideas?

resurrect six month old thread . . .

I've been thinking of getting one of these Wifi Detector thingies . . .

Anyone heard of Canary Wireless before?

An old friend of mine had a really small one on his keys.

It used a row of lights to tell you if a network is in range and how strong the signal is, then another light if it managed to get an IP and ping an internet site.

Cute little thing really.

Haha yeah that Wifi T-Shirt is the thing that made me aware that Wifi detection devices existed! :D

PDA with netstumbler on?
Hmm another vote for Netstumbler, again I don't own a PDA but have been thinking of getting one, is that the same thing as a Pocket PC?

That Canary device above is the best part of £40 so maybe I would be better getting a cheaper £5.00 Wifi Key fob thing and put the rest of the money towards a small PDA/Pocket PC or perhaps laptop?

I wonder are there are mobile phones that have Wifi detection?

Yes, my Nokia N82 can be setup to detect wireless networks, it will scan for new ones as you move and list them from the standby screen with the signal strength and protection so its not stuck in an obscure menu or anything like that. I assume this would be the same with the N95 etc.

Yeah ive got a IPAQ hx4700 with windows mobile 6 on it. Pocket Pc is probably a better description though.:)

there is another for pocket pc wififofum or something has a cool radar screen that tracks down where the signal is strongest so you can tell where the access point actually is....pointless but cool! :D
