Wii Component leads and gamecube games

Some do 480p I think - F-Zero being one of them (not many else tho) :)

Do any PAL releases support 480p though? I know only early GC's (like mine) have digital out for 480p but not the majority...

No, all pal releases are 50/60hz (not all are 60hz) interlaced.

Is it possible to get NTSC game in Europe though?
I know there was talk/rumour of it happening, but has it happened yet???
Not on the PAL Wii. "Modchips" are out but not ones that actually do what they're supposed to do.

This is not the case - as I mentioned, a few of them do support 480p.

I have FZero GX (PAL), a PAL gamecube and gamecube component leads and it gives you the option of playing in progressive.

Fzero is the only game I have that gives this option (although I have heard there are a few others, only a few mind you)

also you can get a freeloader disc to play ntsc on Pal systems but I dont know if it carries through the 480p element.

It does - you just have to be really quick holding down the 'b' button when the game starts to load (to give you the option of progressive)

Edit - just done a bit of research on the net and it looks like the only other PAL game that supports 480P is 007 Agent Under Fire lol

As I said earlier, only the very early Gamecube models had the option for component output, so there wouldn't be much point in progressive output for PAL Gamecube games.

ok guys, thanks, got a madcatz component lead and so far all fine and a nice improvement on my HDTV compared to the rubbish composite lead. I was actually surprised how nice 576i looked on the old gamecube games
