Well got home plugged it in and it all started :D

Oh but wait I need to update the wii myself, I've lost all my mii's, all my saves including 60hrs on zelda, which I dont know if I can be bothered to go through again.

And to top it all of i am out of pocket as I've lost all my wii points and vc games. Even thou I sent a covering letter kindly asking if I could get them transferred.

I am going to have to write another letter I think as I can just about put up with losing every thing else put £20 worth of vc games and another £10 worth of wii points, as well as the £10.50 I paid for postage. So that £40 i am out of pocket because there systems dont have high enough quality control

I could have taken it back to the local shop and got a replacement, with no cost to myself.

I am angry can you tell :p
I had everything but my Mii's. They forwarn everyone about that and I transferred them all to my Wiimote.

Sorry I dont get this . So if your Wii borks and you take it back to the store for a replacement, you lose all the games you have downloaded and paid for? You also have to pay your own postage. That sucks.

Either way though going to store or nintendo you wouldve lost your points and games. Is there no way to back that stuff up?

I would have kept onto the wii longer had I known so I could have got the games off myself, as it booted occasionally if you left it unplugged for a week or so.

Just spoke with there customer services and they say they are going to get back to me by the end of the day, so lets wait and see. They also meantion that the data should have been migrated onto the new wii but for some reason it was not in this case.

Dont forget the cost of phoning a national rate number to talk with them aswell.

Well all of Friday came and went and no one got back to me,

Decided to ring em this morning, and there only open monday to Friday.

Tried playin the wii this morning and I just can't seem to get back into it :(

why do people always mention that there snes and mega drives never broke

most the faults with modern consoles are from moving parts that those consoles never even had

or heat that they didnt produce much of

my snes and mega drives both still work too :p

Thought I'd drag up this old thread, as I was reading through it last night.

My Wii has recently gone faulty (Disc Read errors all the time), so I rang the service centre number.

There was an automated message tellling me to log on to www.nintendoservicecentre.co.uk - from here there is a web form where you can enter your serial number and the details of the problem.

This then tells you that they will send out a pre-paid postage sticker to you - so it appears that you no longer have to pay any postage to return the console to them.

I'll let you know how this goes, and if I mange to have it returned with all my data and downloads intact...

Well I received it back last week - it was my console returned, with all my data still intact.

Overall the process only took a couple of weeks (I didn't post it immediately), and cost nothing as it was under warranty.

Nice and easy.

mine went **** up, ring them up they send you a return label you send console back for free and a few days later get a new console. EASY !
