Nintendo Wiis all over the PS3 ;)

If success was judged by the size of the queues at this week's E3 games expo, then Nintendo would win hands down.

As E3 entered its final hours on Friday afternoon, the queues to play the PS3 had vanished.

Interesting to see what actually happens, can Nintendo really steal back some of PS recent sucess and dominance over the gaming market? I havent played any consoles for years but am very interest in the way Nintendo are trying to change the way we think about gaming.

I am considering getting a Nintendo Wii after lots of good reviews.

Another link showing Nintendo Shares up its highest since 2002.

What are your thoughts? Nintendo maybe selling they're console for $200 less than PS combined with its new idea's surely Nintendo will gain some ground the next year or two?

If the Wii comes out at least a month before the PS3, I can not see Sony doing well, with a console that is vastly more expencive and last on the seen.

The Key to the Wii sucess is to get out before the PS3 imo. It will give it more time in the limelight and prove an opertunity for the Kids to see and feel, then bang it on their Xmas List.

I'm not saying the PS3 wont sell, but they won't be the leaders this time round if the wii gets out first.

Totally agree.

I only people I see getting a PS3 this christmas are hardcore sony fan-boys and spoilt little brats with names like Brooklin or Justin

Most parents will refuse to pay that price and go for the cheaper 360. Thats if the kid hasn't already latched onto the Wii

The smart consumer will, like many on the boards, stick with the 360 and wait untill the ps3 price drops.

The Wii looks fun but it seems a bit of a novelty to me. I just cant see myself stood in my bedroom using that Wii controller thing all the time. But it probably would be a laugh with a few mates now and then.

People said the same about the DS ;)

No chance, no matter how good or bad the PS3 is, it will win the sales war. Its such a brand name, parents buy on the strength of that. My old mans nearly 70 but he knows all consoles as playstations.

Sure the hardcore fans at the E3 weren't interested at the end but so what, 99% of the sales will be to little timmy for christmas.

My nephew is 7 knows sod all about framerate, Blu Ray, DVD, or HTZ per second. All he knows is he wants a PS3.

I hear from my workmates all the time that they are waiting for the PS3 for their kids. I can lie and make figures up all day long or tell them that they can't rent games as the disc's self destruct 2 seconds after finishing them and they will still buy their kids PS3.

They will walk into a store in december and walk in with the name playstation and walk out £400 lighter, no matter whats written on IGN or gamespot the playstaion will win out.

Once again people said that about DS v PSP last x-mas, what happened is that they both sold, remember you couldnt pick up a DS with nintendogs for love nor money, in the end the ps3 will sell but sony is not going to have the same % of the market they got with the PS2

That feels true for the moment - but things change quickly sometimes. Go back in time not all that far and it was inconceivable that Sony could win over Nintendo fans, and all consoles were known as Nintendos.

That is very true... Very much so in the US.

Sony are paying the price for their complacency. They create a console which (ostensibly, at least) is bloated, over-priced, ugly, derivative, difficult to develop for and behind schedule and simply expect people to buy it... Maybe the average punter is savvier concerning these games-consoley things then they might realise. Who knows...?

Still, I might buy one in the distant future, depending on software of course.

I'll be getting one, although it's the console I'm least interested in, probably in the last 15 years bar the stupid none mainstream ones.

Horses for courses.

If you want a top-notch online console, get the 360.
If you want a new gaming experience, but don't mind eye-shattering graphics, have a Wii.
If you want the biggest range of games with great graphics, get a PS3.

If you want all, get a job.
