Wii price revealed..... again !!!

So can you download N64 games as well?!?

Yes, Nintendo console wise it's the NES, SNES and N64
And also the TurboGrafx and Sega Megadrive.

GC games won't be downloaded (a bit large at 1.4gig a disc!) but the Wii is backwards compatible with gamecube - just pop the disc in!

Sorry to be a n00b but does it have a big Hard Drive or something the wii?

The Wii has 512 meg of flash memory built in for game saves and downloaded content, and can also has slots for SD cards to expand the storage. You may not think that is much in this day and age, but SNES games will be 1-2meg, and N64 games average 8-16meg (only a handful of N64 games are bigger)

The downloaded games will have Digital Rights Management, so you can't take a SD card from one machine and play the games on say a mates...

It comes with an SD card slot, SD cards are about £20 for 2gb.

Also keep in mind n64 carts only held ~64mb iirc, so 512mb goes a long way :)

Yeah i suppose! and Snes/ Megadrive games will be around about 5mb and Nes possibly less! But £20 for 2gb is a sound investment!
Cant wait now! i never give it much thought before! :D

According to Nintendo it's "every console until the N64", so no GC but a yes to the prior. Banjo Tooie here I come...
Is there anywhere I can find a summary of what happened at the Japan meeting this morning? Or will I have to wait for the US to start at 1 to start hearing details?

Has it been confirmed that there will be anything other than Nintendo and Sega games available ?
Given that Nintendo fell out with RARE + Im not sure if Nintendo have the rights to sell 3rd party stuff.

as posted in the other thread ;)

it looks like the games will be costing between £20-30 in Japan, presumably including the applicable Japanese taxes so they probably won't be much different here.

Oh, and downloaded games look like they will cost between ~£2.5 and ~£5, presumably based on the age of them (there is a screenshot with 2 sets of japanese writing with prices or 500 and 800, then the third says nintendo 64 and 1000yen)

I would prefer to see prices in Euros before comparing to the YEN or USD

I've heard a lot of the Activision stuff will be available, so plenty of old Atari 2600 games like Pitfall2 (that I never finished), Hero, etc.

I got information the Nintendo Wii from a very reliable source... its coming on 8/12 and will be £179.99 with Wii Sports :)
