why, what previous cases you basing this on.

either nothing will happen, or he will be extradited to America to face charges of obtaining secret/classified documents and put in prison.

It really is no different to that English pentagon hacker, just because he's not American, doesn't mean he's protected and doesn't mean America can't ask for extradition.
 
You have to picture him, laying in a wood with deep cuts to major blood vessels and lots of pills inside him (not holsten), oh that already went down a couple of years back, those colonials will have get more inventive than MI6, maybe he will fall from his prison bunk headfirst 101 times during a nightmare or drown in a cup of prison tea due to fatigue, choke on a rogue poridge oat that leaves hand prints on the outside of his neck, have an alergic reaction to the full moon that make his heart explode, all plausable explainations in langley virginia im sure.

suppose we can say Mr Assange is, going to take it unlubricated on his way to a long dirt nap.

To ask for extradition, the US will have to decide on some charges to bring which is what they are struggling with now. It is not as simple as "obtaining secret/classified documents", if it was - they'd have to charge the new york times and uk guardian among others as they have copies of the cables too. Typically, the source is prosecuted (seems to be bradley manning in this case) but it's much harder to prosecute journalists who then publish that leak.

It would be very interesting to see what, if any, charges are brought against wikileaks in future. The US governments main tactics right now seem to be DDOS on the website, and getting companies to stop facilitating wikileaks (amazon, swiss post office bank, paypal, visa, mastercard...).

It does reek of him being strung up so they've at least got him in court/custody. Now they have time to put together a case against him for releasing the various cables.
 
The cables say the USA knows where Lord Lucan is, and that the lord was Freddie Mercury's secret dad from a love triangle involving the queen..............
