Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

This thread defiantly need a bump.
It's a shame the game is kinda dead because of a bad launch.

But hey ho.. it's going F2P this fall will anyone be playing Wildstar then?

F2P is incoming, happening tonight at midnight ET, which is 5am our time.
So sleep through and wake up nice and early to play.

Is anyone coming back to play this game?

Not for me, couldn't get back into it after the launch month.

I'm all for 'hardcore' raiding at max level but the steps they put infront just sempt to stop 95% of the player base doing it.

Agree it was a raid attenuation or what ever it was/is called was just a stupid idiotic step with Dev's again thinking they know better, just like not having 10 man raids in from the start, if you scroll back you will see I said before the game even came ourt, these were 2 very stupid ideas that would only hurt the game.

On 10 man raiding said, that including it, would not hurt the game or lose the game players, but leaving it out does on both counts, so who was ever that dumb, they thought this was a good idea.

Doubt I will go back.

The attunement process was one of the most enjoyable things I have done in a MMO for a looong time; so many people all working to one goal and supporting each other to get there.

But, I have to agree that it was a stupid decision. When the guild I was in started losing players to the number 1 ranked guild (we were number 2...) it then dawned on us how difficult it was to find attuned players and how long it would take us to be able to get back to raiding, and this was only for genetic archives which was 20 man. Datascape was 40, but I hear they changed that to 20 soon after I quit, going back on their promises of old school feel raids and such.

I agree with this, the idea may be great for a very small selection, but most just don't want to or have the time, and you need those 'most' for a MMO to survive.

Wildstar was one of the best leveling experiences I've had in a MMO, I absolutely adored the art style and the humor throughout whilst in the game. The classes were also really interesting and I liked the race diversity in the main. As mentioned by others though and as someone who cant be bothered to be 'hardcore' anymore the attunement process and what was needed to raid hurt the game very badly - I'm all for attunement processes btw, but how WS approached this was a bit of a killer, especially as someone who returned when the population was at a low point at the start of the year.

Shame really, everything was thoroughly enjoyably they just couldn't strike the balance between 'hardcore' and 'casual'.

Even though I loved it for the couple of months I played it (and I was playing about 14 hours a day), since quitting I've not once had any kind of urge to go back. Not like I get with WoW, and the reason is content. I exhausted all the content pretty quickly (except for the very highest level of raiding, which isn't much), and it doesn't look like they've added much in the 14 or so months since I last played. F2P isn't an issue for me - the investment in time is much more valuable to me these days than the investment in money, and even at no cost at all, I don't think Wildstar (or any other F2P mmo) is worth it.

Extremely fun combat and beautiful art design, but nothing to keep you hooked for a significant amount of time or pull you back in after you've put it down.
