Wilkinsons

Oh, look at me, I work in retail, life is so hard, whinge whinge whinge.

Boring and tedious it may be, but I am sure there are a lot worse places you could be working.

Wilkos **** me off I. Anyone who lives in stoke-on-trent will know of the new Wilkos in Longton. I went the job center months before wilkos opened as it was still being built to get a form to fill in to get a job there the job center at that time had not got any forms from Wilkos so I wrote my name and address on this list they had so the Job Center could send me the forms when they got them.

The day I got the forms though the post I filled them in and returned them the next day. I thought being one of the first people applying for a job there I'd get a job there easy I'm not the smartest person ever but I think I could handle a job which a monkey could do. :D

Anyway they never even contacted me for an interview or anything the No swearing!.
That realy anoyed the hell out of me I went up there to see the place a coupel of days after it opened and noticed almost all the staff were female. Mmm either a lezzy man hater runs the place or a old perv I'm guessing.

I used to work at asda as a trolley pusher! I thought it was ok but I didnt have as much customer interaction. I just watched people fight over car park spaces though!!!

I had someone threaten me in the Asda carpark the other day because I pulled infront of him, mistakenly thinking his slowl pulling away was an invitation for me to pull out ahead of him... He got out of his car, came over to me and hurled abuse, so I reversed not wanting to have to deal with some loud mouthed old ****, let him go ahead and still got a parking space before him. :D

Get used to it... Its the same with any job. Between my last job and this one I was unemployed for 2 months. I applied for around 100 jobs. I had a handful of interviews in total and didn't hear a single thing off of the rest.

It could be worse ...

ive worked in tescos in the day (on the weekends) and ive worked in sainsburys on nights

cant say i ever plan on working at either company ever again, once got so angry with someone i was working with that i shouted at them to **** off on the shop floor, and at sainsburys even though i stay awake all night and sleep through the morning/part of afternoon anyway it was just such a boring job that you could quite easily fall asleep, standing on an isle on your own all night taking things out of boxes and putting them on a shelf with the occasional bit of really irritating crap radio to listen to....so glad i dont work in a supermarket anymore

i think they purposly make these places hell, just so it'll make you so annoyed with it that you'll make sure you get a better job in the future!

It happens all the time, some people man are so easily annoyed - probably because they've had to go shopping with the missus so can you blame them for being wound up lol.

You wonder why they have such cheap prices too, but then you find out that they employ prisoners to pack and ship there stuff to the stores around the uk, which means the prisoners earn less than £1 a day for 8 hours work.

Incorrect. Wilkinsons has never employed prisoners for any work what so ever. The information your making comments on was when it was said that one of our suppliers was doing this. Which is completely out of the hands of Wilkinson

I work in Wilkinsons on a saturday. I must say it has to be the worst job i have ever been in, well the only :p .

I work on the tills, and it gets me soo depressed. Practically every day i work in there i get some **** piece trying to have a pop at me.

The management are absolute ***, they never seem to have enough staff on a saturday when i work, which is the busiest time in the week, which means the staff are pushed to 100% working capacity. They underpay us for the amount of effort we put in.

I think its time for me to get out of the retail sector.

You seem like a precious individual.

"which means the staff are pushed to 100% working capacity"

And ?

It's the only job you've ever had and your already wanting out of the retail sector.

Good luck in later life... :|
