my new crucial 128gig ssd that arrived today made me go wow. didnt notice windows install a lot faster and began having my doubts right up to when i started navigating arround and setting up my drivers etc.... then i was like "WOW"
Will a SSD drive make me go WOW?

sounds strange on the install time, I installed win7 in less than 20 minutes!

Your credit card bill will make you go WOW when you remember the cost of the thing.
Personally, I would and am sitting on the sidelines waiting for the next generation of SSD and lower prices.
When I built a new system I considered SSD but instead bought a small 160GB 7200rpm drive for the OS for £28 instead of £340-400 or so for the same sized Intel SSD. And yes, its still the fastest PC I've owned and currently use (I use loads). WIth 8GB of RAM it it handles everything quickly, I never sit in front of it thinking 'If only the hard disk access was faster'. So, despite always picking quality products and willing to pay the extra, the SSD is not where I wanted to go for storage - I'd rather spend the extra £300 on days out and things.
Each to their own though
PS I can write off some of the cost of an SSD against company expenses as my machine is for my business but still don't think it's worth it for me.

Besides, unless you're really REALLY desperate for those seconds, won't change your life.
I've got my ITX running on a SSD and my main computer on two 1TB drives...
The internets won't load stuff any faster, games don't run any better.
My main computer lives on standby when not in use, gets back up again faster than it takes a SSD to get into windows from power on (a windows startup of 10s doesn't include the POST time which can be even longer).
My time on the computer isn't critical, most things are irrelevantly faster in loading.
It's cute but I wouldn't buy any at current prices.

Depending on your setup, web browsing can be more responsive with SSD.
Some games do run better on SSD (most actually).

Let's get 2 points clear on this -
1) the drive would not be for storage, only as a boot drive.
2) My 80 gig Raptor cost around the same price so £150 for 64 gig seems quite reasonable for something that is supposed to be so fast.

Photoshop CS4 loading in 4 seconds doesn't sound impressive when my current setup does it in 6 seconds however one poster says it takes 1 second on is!
However Windows virtually loaded before your screen as responded sounds good now I've gone a bit 'green' and I actually turn my PC off sometimes.

For most of us it has been WOW. For me the best performance upgrade I have done has been Windows 7 installed on a SSD. What more do you want people to say, I'm sure that you have done your research. If you can afford to blow money on one then:

Thought I would post my thoughts on this.
Initially it is quite amazing how quickly everything loads with an ssd. Mine has got noticeably faster since switching to ACHI but then evrything has settled down and like I said you get used to it.
BUT, every now and then things happen which remind you of the advantages of an ssd eg I was loading new software today and one part which contains a prompt suggesting a wait of 5-25 mins took about 15 secs!! Also a program such as Dragon Naturally Speaking used to have a noticeable lag when dictating, and would often run out of memory when dictating at anything appproaching normal speed. Now I can dictate as fast as I like
