Will a SSD drive make me go WOW?

I've been using a 128gb SSD for publishing work since Nov and it's a mega improvement working with files from 70mb - 300mb made me go WOW but im used to it now and could not got back to a stardard HDD.
 
Have to admit I'm quite impressed having moved my MW2 files to an SSD - even a relatively cheap and slow SSD compared to some on the market - load times are 3x faster than my multi disc RAID5 and that wasn't slow.
 
I can now confirm that the Kingston 64 gig now makes me go WOW especially seeing how fast Sonar Production Studio, Adobe Photoshop and other programs load in.
Everything is way quicker - even my t'internet seems quicker.

Why isnt everyone buying the Kingston SSDNow V+ Series 64GB over the other 64GB versions, it appears to have better read/write speeds than most...Is the Crucial M225 or Corsair Reactor a better drive in real world terms?

Like the poster you responded to, my first HD was 120mb, and I certainly wasn't rich (and sadly, I'm still not :) ). Depends when you took the plunge really. With me, the drive was an internal one for an Amiga 1200 (at the point where they were realistic in price). A year later I had my first PC, and that had a 200mb drive in it.

It's one of the biggest single upgrades you can make to a modern PC especially if you use your PC for productivity tasks. Definately a WOW so much so that all my PCs now have SSD's and I hate my work laptop :p

i agree its prob one of the best modern upgrades that work... i put one in a 3yrs old laptop and it works fast now great update and win7 on it 25 sec boot times love it almost instant use when in windows and fast prog opening very nice no appearant slow down (defrag gone)

even a cheapo (make sure it works on trim)
 
I prefer a fast & silent system.

All them seconds/minutes of your life waiting for your computer to do stuff is literally killing you as you sit and wait.

Also noise, arrghhhhhh, drives me up the frigging wall. It's 2010 for Gods sake. Why is there still noise?

Also you can get an Intel 40GB for under £100.

To me it makes perfect sense to buy one.
Then again, may be I am just a bit loopy!

Going from my F1s to F3s made me go WOW!

My PC is noticably quicker and more responsive. Who needs to spend hundreds on SSDs? Just use a £60 1TB Sammy F3 :).

It still only gets a 5.9 in Windows Performance Index, while everything else is 7.5 and over, but it still seems fast to me.
 
How comes they have gone up in price since the sticky?
Also is the Intel 40gig V model a different technology (and hence slower) or just smaller in size?
