So much news and gossip flying around, it deserves its own thread!

Congrats to Virgin and Lotus - they have done a superb job to join the rest of the teams on testing. However there are still doubts over the other two new entrants.

A bit more info doubting USF1 at Pitpass today - http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=39961

Campos looking more certain now than before due to restructuring - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/81569

And will Stefan GP take a slot this season if one team can't make it? I hope so. Although it could see the return of JV who I don't like personally :p (http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/81566).

Thoughts?

I am now actually hoping Stefan GP do get a spot, their pro-activeness and unwillingness to accept they don't have a place has endeared them to me :p

It isn't looking great for USF1 and Campos, its hard to see what is actually fact and what isn't but i guess thats always the case.

Theres a little role reversal going on at the end of this week. Last week Campos was dead in the water with USF1 quiet but rumour of testing and crash testing. Now Campos looks like it might be saved and USF1 are way behind schedule and clearly put too much faith in the Youtube sponsorship. A sale and lease back of the factory is their only way to raise funds.

Its just a big shame they are looking like they aren't going to make it to grid.

USF1 site looks like its dead, but it's just timing out so no real indication of anything company wise.

To be honest I don't care if these teams make it simply because even if they do after getting this far, they're not going to last are they?

Can anyone see Stefan GP doing a Brawn and the new Toyota car being an absolute stunner? That'd be a kick in the teeth!

No, simply due to the lack of good drivers available to them. Regardless of how good the car is, you put a timmeh behind the wheel and they will be lapped, picking it out of the gravel trap or both. Both Brawn drivers were with the team the previous year and had both won races. RB was massively experienced and Button had always shown potential in some appauling cars. JV is the only real 'winner' available, possibly Heidfeld as a second driver or even Nakajima if they need to dis-assemble the car in a hurry...

Interesting, just wish it would be reported sooner rather than later.

If USF1 can't make it then get them out now and give Stefan GP some testing time at Barcelona

Wont be surprised if either team fail to materialise - and to be honest the fewer "cloned" cars the better imo

Even if JV does come back (great guy and was a fabulous driver) cant see him doing much, he did very little at BAR before he went, why would he be any better nearly 10 years later (albeit in a different style of car)
