Will Campos and USF1 make it to the grid in 2010?

Confirmed:

Jose Ramon Carabante has taken over Campos - was a shareholder before - now majority shareholder.

Adrian Campos out as Team Principal
Colin Kolles in as Team Principal
Senna still in as driver at the moment - he's got a contract. *scratch that - press release said that driver will be announced in due time - unusual*
Geoff Willis is onboard as a consultant at the moment.

Need more money to get to Bahrain, but they're hopeful.
Team name change on the boards as well.

USF1 seeking permission to miss the first 4 races....

Jeeze, so that means that mid way through the season they will have something like the running the teams have had by now... Provided they have a reliable car....

I just want them to get dumped out now. The more and more news we see, the more like Lola Mastercard its getting :p

Why would they give us a franchise and just, the first time there's a bump in the road, yank it and put it out of business?

Has this guy even heard of Bernie Ecclestone :)

EDIT - If Campos do actually make it to Bahrain and USF1 can't, can Bernie ditch USF1 in favour of Stefan GP?

If this is to be believed, then it will be bloody unfair if Campos make it and USF1 don't...

Colin Kolles said:
They had basically nothing, only chaos. The only department which basically exists is a software department, with eight guys who never saw an F1 car in their lives, and who are doing software simulation programmes. Then there are two or three engineers with F1 experience, and that's it... I tell you. They had nothing. They had one empty workshop with nothing inside...

That's pretty shocking :o

^^ oh dear.... I can see why stefan gp is suddenly looking a lot better to start on the grid, campos sound like a joke of a shambles and USF1 doesnt look a lot better.... (then again kolles should help out at least).

Hope USF1 dont get the first 4 races off as that would just be silly. Why try race in 2010 if they havnt prepared well enough to be there on the 1st gp...

I think StefanGP are currently suing the FIA over their selection methods. Not sure what stage the process has reached though.

This was thrown out a while back. There were 2 teams challenging it. One case was thrown out so the other dropped theres too. Cant remember which way round it was, but bottom line is its over.

"In a meeting between the employees, Windsor and Anderson, Windsor put the question up to the employees: 'Who here doesn't think we'll make Bahrain?' I think he might have meant it somewhat rhetorically, but he was answered nonetheless, and 100 per cent of the staff raised their hands. He was visibly shocked.

LOL

I'm going to quote a previous post of mine to show just how wrong I've been about US F1 and their readiness for the year.

Aside from the usual Euro-centric nonsense - why exactly is it a surprise that US F1 are looking like fulfilling their obligations and making the grid? They've got a decent workshop in Charlotte, NC. They've got a former Haas CNC technical director on the payroll, along with another director with Williams and Scuderia Ferrari on his CV.

As far as I can tell the only guy with any real clout who has actually taken a downer on the team is Bernie Ecclestone, and everyone on here thinks that Bernie is in fact the Devil incarnate. So they really ought to be behind the US F1 effort.

Man that post looks stupid now....:o:rolleyes::D

Not at all mate, I think they had everyone fooled (even their employees by the sounds of things!).

I would have loved to have a successful USF1 team on the grid (their HQ is only a few miles down the road from where my nephew/sis/BIL live!). But they do deserve to fail if their organisation has been so **** poor :(

The FIA have to take some responsibility here. They looked over the applications and had to check sufficient funding was in place. They rejected Prodrive for these jokers, a team that races in other series and can put atuff together. Bernie and Max saw $$$'s by re-engaging with the US market and it's blown up in their faces.

The FIA have to take some responsibility here.

Mad Max's cadre has to take damned-near all the responsibility, never mind 'some'.

Charlie Whiting has gone to visit them anyway, so I'm sure in ten years time we might get a few details about how bad things really were. Anyone still think Ferrari were anything other than 101% correct to let fly with that attack on the FIA the other day?
