Hi OcUK!

Ordered a graphics card from you guys & Im expecting DPD to deliver it today (although its still showing "At sortation facility" on their tracking website). Im at home waiting since 0800hrs but might have to scoot out to run some errands (bank etc) :o

If I leave a note telling DPD driver to drop the package through the vent in the living room...will they do it? Ive got a huge cardboard box brimming with foam pellets that I will place under the vent that he/she could drop the box into. About a 40cm drop into the foam pellets from the vent. I can stick a note on the door explaining this.

But I guess this will *have* to be signed for?

It arrived at Birmingham sortation facility @ 1935hrs on the 5th, do you think it will come today?

Thanks :D

doubt it.... why would he. u could ring ocuk and say it did not turn up and they or DPD will have to foot the bill..

I ordered something which was just posted through my letter box, signed for by me apparently. Bearing in mind I was in bed asleep when it came and no one else in the house :p

Edit: This was DPD.

Yea I was just wondering so I thought Id ask. Ive had deliveries from other companies where the driver has left a note saying hes left the package in the black bin in the backyard etc lol.

Hmm might build me my own drop box in the back :o

yeah me too, but every time a drivers leaves something that needs a signature .... (as greatful as i am) he risks a lot of greif

U will get a text with a delivery time anyhow on the day, if u havn't got one and ur tracker doesnt say "Out for delivery" it aint coming yet

You can allocate a safe place for DPD to leave stuff without a signature but you take ALL liability for this.

Thanks for the info :)

After reading everyones replies...Ive decided to play safe and sign for it!

Yea, I did pick todays date for delivery when I placed the order but looking at the website it hasnt been updated since 1935hrs last night so I doubt it will come in today. Fortunately Im off tomorrow as well. But I hope it comes today!

DPD site is normally pretty good, if it doesnt say 'Out For Delivery' then i would imagine it aint coming today and has been held up for some reason. i would drop them a call and check if it has left the depot before spending all day at the windows for nothing.

So check this out guys - I called DPD and they were all

"Uhhhh...it...it looks like your package has been received by us but its been put on a 24hr hold"

"A 24hr hold...why?"

"I dont know...its a mistake, all I can do is apologize. We will deliver it tomorrow between 0830 & noon"

"Hmm..ok then, thanks"

A few mins after this convo a note appeared by my consignment number on the DPD website "Will deliver before noon on June 7th"

If Id kept quiet...Ive got a bad feeling my graphics card would be in there a long time! Alarm set. C'mon delivery van..

4-day delay on my graphics card :( Due to an error in DPD warehouse. Its still showing as "at sortation facility" They said they would deliver free of charge on Sat. I wish I lived close to OcUK would be cool to pick stuff up myself!

You might as well leave the following note on your front door instead ...

" Dear burglar,

Would you please be kind enough to sign and accept the parcel from DPD which should be here before 1pm.

There's some cheese and wine in the fridge if you get peckish.

Bests "

They are not picking up their phones!! You have to punch in the parcel# before you are put through to them. I do that and after about 7 rings - click - ...and nothing.

I suspect that they see my parcel# flash up on the screen and are like "Uh oh him again"

I like OcUk and have always got my stuff from them but its these delivery companies that ruin it......
