Really depends on the games you play. High user area MMO's, strategy games etc, use A LOT of cpu power.
That's only because they have been designed to use the CPU. Certain applications can utilise the GPU and unlock the potential processing power such as Folding clients that are outperforming the CPU clients.
Developers will shift to code where possible with parallel programming or make use of all the HSA utilising all the features in the stack.
Of course this takes a lot of time and effort. Old school programmers are not going to drop what they have been doing for years and pick this up, it will be down to a new generation of developers to get to grips with.
