will i be over the limit

My mate had about similar to you on his 18th... He went to drive the next day but his mum told him to wait for her to pop around (police office)... She made him blow and he scored 45... His mum then took his keys off him :)

So when can OP be certain he is ok to drive then without guessing

thats half the problem with the morning after thing.....

In two days time if he doesn't consume any more alcohol in the intervening period or maybe better make it a week to be sure... I think the point is that if you're in any doubt about it (and asking suggests a doubt) then you probably shouldn't be driving.

You'll probably be OK but it depends on your build, metabolism etc - so if you're even slightly unsure, best not to risk it

You only count the hours after you stop drinking, while you're drinking your body isn't getting rid of any alcohol.

So an hour per unit from the time you stopped drinking

How long do the effects of alcohol take to wear off?
On average it takes one hour for a healthy liver to process one unit of alcohol. However, it does depend on your body mass, gender and how much food you have consumed. Even if you feel fine after drinking heavily in the evening there is still a high possibility that you will be above the legal limit should you drive the following morning.

1 Pint of beer at 4% is 2.2 Units

If you’re asking yourself then don’t.

This one hour a unit thing really does depend on your metabolism, so be safe rather than sorry.

If you have to ask then probally not is the answer. You won't get stopped, it would only be a problem if you crashed.

This. Your unlikely to get stopped assuming the car is OK but if something unexpected happens and your over then you'll be in trouble.

If you don't have to drive today might be worth leaving it.

Ahh you'll be alright, if you wake up feeling fine you're probably be alright to drive. Some people metabolise alcohol faster than others.

If you wake up still drink and hungover like ****, then I think the answers obvious. But if you feel good in the morning, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

^ Well, waking up feeling 'fine' can also be the result of still being hammered or at least enough to get you pulled.

Walk or wait and the drive later :)

I wouldn't say so considering he only had 10 tins and stopped at 11, a relatively calm night tbh, driving with a hangover is worse than driving maybe near the limit or very slightly over.

^ Hey, let's agree to disagree then. 10 tins of 5.2% is enough to put a dent in my driving ability the next day so I stay off the roads - or in the passenger seat - until I feel ok. Your mileage may vary :)

No No No!

Perhaps, if you had a friend who was killed by a drunk driver, you'd appreciate my position. :(

I'm always really paranoid that I will be over the limit, if I have been drinking the night before.

I usually avoid drinking if I know i'll be driving the next morning.

I think that a good sleep, good feed and a good wash does wonders.

I wouldn't think twice about driving past 1pm.
