As the title says... i have a Swiftech Apogee GTX, will it fit the new Intel i7 socket?

I'm guessing no, but i just want to make sure. And if it dont fit, can anyone recommend a good i7 waterblock?

Cheers.

I haven't seen any i7 replacement fittings for the GTX yet, tho there is one for the GTZ.

try an XSPC block thats what i used to set mine up a while ago while i had a evap holddown made held 62degrees at 4.350mhz with 1.450v 1/2 hour on prime you can get them off here i tthink

In the end i just bought a SwiftTech Apogee GTZ, and had to get the i7 fitting from the U.S for a stupid price because nowhere in the UK has them yet...
Prefer SwiftTech stuff though, it's industrial quality, had my current SwiftTech water setup running constantly 24/7 for 3+ years!

You obviously didn't do any research on the GTX.

American industrial quality maybe!

Apart from dropping the ball on the GTX with its rubbish plating I thought swiftech kit was always some of the best availible?

Not really. IMO, it was never particularly leading edge until it bought the Storm design from Cathar, then used some of its design principles to make a block that they didn't have to pay him for (Apogee) then made the GTX because it was cheaper to make the top than the Apogee one, and they messed that up and refused to replace failed tops hiding behind the HydrX argument.

The Swiftech pumps are Laings, the rads are common Chinese rads.

I suppose the radbox is unique to them.

Anodised isn't a problem if it's done right. Swiftech clearly haven't. The AquaComputer stuff I've got in my system I've had for a few years, and there's never been a hint of corrosion on anything. The entire time I've been using copper NB/CPU blocks and aluminium fittings and GFX block. It's been running for over a year now with aluminium CPU and VRM blocks, I checked it a few days ago and no problems.
